The Future Queen

Chapter 40

.....A Few Days Later.....

It's the day of the ball and things are very hectic with all the preparations needed for tonight.

People are rushing around the palace to get things finished before the guests arrive.

I am already getting ready for the ball as Alex does the same.

Apparently Victoria hired some people for us (and by us I mean me, mom, Abby and Victoria) to prepare for the ball meaning both hair and make up were done to each of us.

I was in our bedroom while Alex had to get ready in one of the guest rooms.

.....A Few Hours Later.....

After sitting down for I don't know how long I am finally finished.

I change into my ball gown which I chose when Abby, Victoria, Mom and I went to look for an outfit for each of us.

I am wearing is a rose gold off shoulder ball gown with matching shoes.

I decided to wear the necklace and earrings Alex gave me for Christmas.

My hair was put in a bun with a few curls out to frame my face and they did a smokey eye with matte red lipstick for my make up.

I exit the bathroom to spot Alex seated on the couch watching TV

"How long have you been waiting?" I ask as he turns off the TV and stans up.

His eyes widen as he looks at me. He watches me very intently and after about a minute or two he finally speaks "you look goregeous, my love"

After he speaks I release a breath which I didn't even know I was holding.

"Thank you" I say as I approach him "and you my prince look very charming"

Before either of us get to speak anymore one of the ladies who helped me speaks as she comes out of the bathroom "Your Highness,Ms. Peterson, sorry to interrupt we will be leaving now if you don't mind"

"You may go, thank you" I say as they nod and both leave the room.

I turn to look back at Alex as he kisses me and I do the same.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

We are currently in the middle of the hallway facing a door with hundreds of people in the room.

"Are you ready?" Alex asks as he looks at me.

I just stare at him for a few seconds before slowly nodding. He lifts my chin to make me look back at him before he speaks.

"Once we walk through those doors there's no going back, are you absolutely sure you're ready for this?"

"I am, as long as I have you, that's all I need" I say with a smile as he smiles bacl at me before kissing me once more.

We decided to finally announce that we are dating which took a lot of time to agree to but after a few arguments here and there we finally decided to anounce so we don't need to keep on hiding and stealing kisses with each other and rumours have been rising about Alex travelling to New York several times.

I was pulled out of my thoughts as Victoria speaks.

"Alex, Amelia will you both be heading in already?" Victoria asks with her hand on Edward's arm as they approach us.

"Yes, mother we will" Alex says as Victoria nods.

"Good luck to the both of you" Victoria says aswe thank her and Edward for their support.

They both stay at the side so the people don't see them when the doors open.

Alex and I fix our positions as I put my hand on Alex' arm.

Victoria checks our position to make sure everything looks perfect before she nods to Liam and he informs the others to prepare as she goes back to the side with Edward.

The doors opens as we are announced.

"His Royal Highness Prince Alexander of Othilia and Ms. Amelia Peterson"

The guests all bow and curtsy to us as we descend the steps.

We finish walking down the steps and thankfully I did not slip or anything.

We reach down and Alex is approached immeadietly by different people who I have no clue who they are but we continue to hold on each other.

After about two to three minutes Victoria and Edward are announced.

"Their Majesties King Edward and Queen Victoria of Othilia"

Everyone bows and curtsys including Alex and I as they descend the steps and approach their thrones.

Once they approach their thrones everyone stands up properly and everyone starts talking and dancing with each other.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

We talk with the guests and I would check where my parents, Abby or Aaron are and I would see them talking to other guests as well.

Alex never left my side the whole time and he would introduce me to people I will most likely forget by the end of the night especially with the glass of champagne I am holding.

Other women would approach us and talk to me while their husbands or boyfriends would go and talk to Alex.

Edward and Victoria would walk around the ballroom as well and talk to the othe guests.

"Are you getting bored with the talk?" Alex asks as we walk around and he grabs my empty champagne glass and hands it to one of the staff.

"Maybe a bit" I say since their conversation was about sports or something since some of these people here were in school woth Alex.

Alex nods as he leads us to the dance floor without me realizing it until the music starts and I realie we are in a waltz position.

We start to dance as everybody watches

We were dancing at the center while other guests were around us.

When it was time for countdown everyone went towards the balcony to watch the fireworks. Alex and I went to a seperate balcony.

We both kiss each other at the stroke of midnight as everyone shouts Happy New Year to each other.

"Happy New Year, My Love" Alex says as we both pull apart from the kiss.

"Happy New Year" I say as we kiss once more before watching a bit of the fireworks then everyone went back inside the palace.

The rest of the night was filled with dancing, talking and of course drinking.

Now that people know about Alex and I things could change which scared the shit out of me.

So far I don't know the reaction of the world to our relationship but I am just to think positively about this.
