Chapter 54

.....A Few Hours Later.....

I continue to wait and it feels like I've been waiting for days already.

Amelia's family is informed but they were told to come after the surgery due to the difficulty of getting through with the huge amount of people outside.

After some more time the doctor finally comes out and I approach him.

"Dr. May I know about her condition?"

"Your Highness, the surgery was a sucess we were able to remove the bullet and it didn't hit any vital parts" he says and I breath out a sigh of relief.

"Can I see her?" I ask as he nods before replying.

"Of course, but she is currently sedated and will wake up in a few hours. She is currently being transferred at the moment, I will have them call for you once they are done and you can enter" he says as I nod and he excuses himself as he leaves.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

I was finally allowed to check on her. I was given the room number and I start to approach it.

I enter and my heart breaks seeing her like this. She looks so lifeless. There are a bunch of tubes connected to her and her body is filled with bruises.

I walk towards her bed and sit down at the chair beside as I hold onto her hand and place a kiss at the back.

"I'm sorry I failed to protect you from him, but I promise I'll make him pay for what he has done" I say

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

Suddenly I hear a knock and as I call 'come in' the door opens and the first to enter is Elizabth followed by James, Abby and lastly Aaron.

I get up from my seat and offer it to Elizabeth. She thanks me as she sits down.

James stood right behind her while Abby and Aaron went to the other side.

"Did the doctor say anything?" James asks as he looks at me.

"He said the surgery was a sucess, they were able to remove the bullet and it didn't hit any vital parts" I say and my phone starts to ring as I excuse myself and exit the room.

I check the caller ID and it's my mother.

"Hello?" I say as I pick up the phone

"Alex, is she alright, we heard what happened from Allison" she says

"Yes, the surgery was a success and it didn't hit any vital parts though she is currently sedated"

"Inform me when she wakes up so we can come over"

"Alright, I will" I say as we bid goodbye and we end the call as I enter the room once more.

.....A Few Hours Later.....

We are still waiting for Amelia to wake up. Her family decides to get some food first while I wait here.

Suddenly I felt her fingers slowly move and I completely focus my attention on her.

Slowly she opens her eyes and vloses it for a second due to the amount of light in the room and then she opens it once more.

-----Amelia's POV-----

I open my eyes for the second time and look around I see Alex looking at me.

"You're awake" he says as he hugs me with a huge smile on his face.

I look around and I notice I am in a hospital and I remeber getting shot by Andrew. I look out the window and I notice that it's already night. How long have I been asleep?

"Do you need anything?" He asks

"W-water" I say as he nods and gets a cup of water and hands it over to me and I drink from the cup.

Before I get to say anything else the door opens and my family is here.

I hand over the cup back to Alex as my my parents run over to me and hug me while my mom starts to cry.

"You're awake!" She says

After they pull apart Abby comes over and hugs me as Alex excuses himself and he comes back with a doctor and does a quick check-up while advising what to do and how long before I get to leave the hospital.

.....A Few Minutes Later.....

My parents along with Abby and Aaron already left for the night after Alex and I convinced them.

"My parents are coming by the way to visit you" he says

"Now? But it's already late" I ask as I look ay the time.

"I know, buy they wanted to visit you already" he says as I nod amd we sit in silence for a few seconds.

"What happened to Andrew?" I ask

"He is in prison and there is nothing you need to worry about, just let me handle it, okay?" he says as I nod.

Alex and I talk with each other for a few minutes until there's a knock on the door as Victoria and Edward enter.

"It's good to see you Amelia, " Victoria says as she sits down on the chair beside the bed.

"Thank you, it's good to see you both as well" I say

"How are you?" Edward asks

"I'm good, though I can't wait to get out of here it freaks me out" I say as they both chuckle and we talk for about an hour before they had to go but promised to visit me tomorrow.
