It was days after the announcement happened and thankfully, Jesy didn't see her as anything disrespectful and they still continued their friendship going on. For a few days, Xailendra kept a smiling face everytime the woman talks to her, forcing herself to think that everything is okay even it's obviously not.
One Saturday afternoon, when she came from her work, she was met by her dad waiting for her with a lot of hurtful words from his mouth, talking about how he never sees her around the house anymore and that she was probably being a slut, not even going to her job since most of the times she wasn't in their house.
It was confusing, the fact that her dad thought of her as a you know, but what confused her more is the fact that he's nagging on her because she wasn't doing her job, but how did he even think about that when she was literally studying in a expensive school without taking a single cent from them since they found out that she got a job?
But like how everytime this thing happens, she cries after.
His words stung a lot, coming from her father.
Well, technically, he might not be my father, Xailendra thought to herself. There's a lot of evidences that I'm not their child. The biggest one is how they treat me around here.
She went up to her room crying. She wanted to leave the house but where would she go?
Wait a minute. Jesy.
It was a great idea, but at the same time it wasn't. Maybe if Jesy saw her, she'd ask her about what happened, and it might lead to more questions and she doesn't want that.
For a while, the green-eyed girl spaced out. But if she wants to feel free; even just for a while, she needed to just stop thinking and just get going.
She snuck out to the window of her bedroom and made sure she will get down carefully. She started well but she could not say the same for the end because she accidentally made the wrong step and fell down at their backyard.
Eh, I was halfway through anyways.
She fell on her right arm but thankfully it wasn't broken, there was just a spot on her forearm that would probably bruise tomorrow.
She ran stealthily to Jesy's house and when she reached her front porch, she inhaled deeply. She knocks the door three times and waits for an answer. When the door swings open, she looked Jesy straight to the eye and looked away, only to return her gaze back at her. She whispers a small 'hey' to the woman but even before she replies, Xailendra squats down and cried a few tears while covering her eyes and a few moments later, she stood back up and wiped her tear stained cheek saying, "okay, I'm okay." as if to declare her mental stability.
Jesy saw her red, puffy eyes and hugs Xailendra. "Oh darling, what happened?"
The woman pulls back and makes te girl sit down. She also gave her a tissue box and sat beside her.
"I, uh, my dad just called me a slut." She said and covered my face. "And a bunch of things but it's cloudy up here, my head hurts 'cause I cried." She said pointing her forehead.
"What? That's brutally rude!" She shrieked. "He shouldn't be saying things to you like that!"
"I know, but what can I do? He's my father," She shrugged like it was nothing. (it isn't). "Well, actually, he might not be."
"Why'd you say that?"
"I think I'm adopted," She said.
Honestly? She was afraid that those words will come out of her mouth because it seems even more real now that someone beside her knows.
