Friendly reminder that you don't have to take everything seriously. Todoroki's dumb for shit n giggles. College isn't all friends and football like in this fic. And their idiotic behavior is also just for shit n giggles.
The break wasn't all too phenomenal. They took care of the apartment, argued with the neighbours one or two times, Midoriya made all the food for them, Todoroki bought all the groceries.
Talking was also a thing, obviously. Todoroki told Midroiya about the "Bakusquad" and how he isn't really a part of it anymore, because he likes to spend more time with him than them.
Midoriya told him more about his childhood. Bullying, struggles, Uraraka and Iida.
Todoroki also said one or two things about his childhood. There wasn't much, he grew up rich with no problems, except his dad he was an abusive asshole, and his mom who was just not there.
They also shared stories about what kind of dumb or crazy stuff happened to them before they met.
Todoroki speculated, once again, how Midoriya was so ripped. No seriously, this dude never works out. He said it himself, he doesn't. This was a universe wonder.
Midoriya mention their first encounter. Todoroki the second; he told him about how that felt like a fanfiction moment, when Midoriya knew that he was "the popular rich gay student".
"What are you going to do after College?" Midoriya asks.
They both decided to chill on the balcony. They lied down next to each other, feet up on the railing, gaze up to the sky.
"Well the original plan was to go after my dad's steps, but I don't think that's gonna happen anymore"
"Why?"
They both fidget their feet like either toddlers, or hopeless romantics.
"First of all, I hate my dad" they both chuckle for a second "And second of all, if I go after his steps, get the job this and that, I wouldn't be able to see you and that is the last thing that I'd want to happen. I don't want it to happen at all actually"
Midoriya smiles hearing the last sentence "I'm glad"
Todoroki could have everything. He was born into a rich family, which isn't a surprise by now. He grew up with no worries whatsoever. He could be a doctor after college, engineer, boss of an company, model if he wanted to. There is nothing he couldn't get with the money he had.
Yet he chooses to stay by Midoriyas side, and nothing makes the short boy happier than this fact.
"What about you?"
Midoriya groans and stretches his arms "Honestly, I didn't think that the last semester would come" he was thinking back to all the struggles he went through "At first I didn't even think I'd finish high school. Then while studying here, I thought something would come in between it. It just seems unreal"
They lie there for a while, saying nothing, listening to the neighbours talk. One women scream over to her husband to help her get the groceries out of the car. An old lady was scolding kids who were running away from the place after spray-paintng something on the wall. Two girls who came back from a date and we're planning the next one. And high schoolers coming back from school, talking about their big plans for the future.
"But talking from a healthy, not so sad, version" Midoriya continues "I think if I wasn't so fucked up back then, my dream would be to help others?" He looks over to Todoroki "Oh god that sounds so cliche" he covers his face with his hands for a second
