"Cody Warner" I look up at the sound of his name. He gets up and walks slowly to where the bowls are. Taking the knife from Marcus he cuts his palm and without hesitation places it over the Erudite bowl waiting for his blood to drip onto the water. I guess a part of me wishes that he had stayed. He turns around and we lock eyes since i was sitting in the very front it wasn't hard to find me. He quickly shifts his gaze to the floor and starts walking to the Erudite section. I cross my legs trying to restrain myself from getting up, run to him, and beg him to stay.

After the ceremony we all run out of the building. My mind was still fuzzy from everything that happened in the morning. Not even sprinting could clear my mind. I quickly notice that I was in front of everyone, I smile pleased with myself that it's barely day one of initiation and I'm already ahead of everyone else. Liz and Chris finally manage to catch up to me and we all stop in front of the train tracks spreading out in a line. Training was really worth it since I was the only one not so out of breath like everybody else.

"Why the fuck aren't you tired ?!" Liz asks me with her hands on her knees trying to catch her breath. Drama queen. Chris laughs and shakes his head.

I simply shrug my shoulders "you know I've been training for 2 years now by myself so I'm in the best shape of my life and it's not my fault that you didn't want to train with me" I hear the train horn in the distance and I prepare myself to be the first one in the first car. As soon as the train passes by us I run after it and as soon as the door handle comes into view I grab it and pull myself up without breaking a sweat and push the button that opens the door, I get in the car and wait for Liz and Chris to get in. Chris is the first one to get in after him is Liz. I can't help but laugh at how clumsy Liz had turned over night. Chris helps her up when she finally throws herself into the car. I look out the door and see a few people still struggling to get on, but it wasn't long until they all got into the train. All but the abnegation girl.

"Come on" I say under my breath "you can do it" finally she throws herself in the last car of the train. Well done abnegation.

"I can't believe Cody chose Erudite" Liz speaks loudly over the chatter coming from the other dauntless born who were in the car with us.

"At least he didn't choose Abnegation" Chris says taking a seat on the floor resting his back on the wall.

"I can, he never belonged in dauntless. He's too smart to be dauntless" i say looking down at my combat boots.

We stay quiet for the rest of the time it takes until it's time for us to jump. "Time to jump!" I scream making sure everybody hears me clearly.

"oh hell" Liz says standing up. I giggle a little, but quickly stop when i see her face turn pale. She has always been afraid of heights and jumping out of things.

"you'll be fine" I say before turning around to face the door "you can jump with me if you want"

"Sorry but no, I rather jump with Chris" Liz says wrapping her arm around Chris's bicep, he shrugs and pats her hand.

"soothe yourself" I back up a little to grab more speed "see you in the other side" I practical sprint out of the car as soon as the roof of the building comes into view. When i finally jump I enjoy the few seconds of being suspended in the air. Oh how i wish i could fly. I land on my feet but i stumble a few steps before fully recovering my valance. I run towards Max and Eric who were standing on the other side of the roof.

"Glad to see you back" Max says smiling a little, I smile back trying to ignore Eric's intense stare.

"can i just skip the whole speech you guys give the initiates and jump?" I say crossing my arms
