❛ we are all broken, that's how the light gets in. ❜

I locked myself in my office not even wanting to talk to Jimin, I even abruptly canceled my meeting with the MCA because I couldn't think about anything, other than her. I made some stupid story about my grandma being sick and they bought it, they even got teary-eyed.

Being empathetic shouldn't even be on your agenda.

"Sir, I'll be taking my leave now," Jimin said on the other side of the door. It was currently 6 and everyone had gone home an hour ago, "Okay, stay safe."

I hated how she knew it, and she didn't even bother to tell me. Well maybe, that's her choice. But why? Why would she keep something from me? Wouldn't she want to expose me then and there if she knew I cheated?

I looked out on the huge window to see the city lights light up like stars in the black abyss up above.

My phone then started ringing, I picked it up from the table to see it was from an unknown caller...

I swiped the "ACCEPT" button to the right.

"Hello?" I spoke.

"Is this Jeon Jungkook?" The caller from the other line asked. It was a man who spoke if I wasn't mistaken.

"Yes, it is, how may I be of service?"

"I'm using Nayeon's phone and I wanted to meet up with you."

Nayeon's phone? Is this her boyfriend?

"Why is it that you wanted to meet me? And what does Nayeon have to do with this?"

"Nayeon is stressed right now and asleep. I just wanted to talk to you. You could say I want to introduce myself," His voice sounded so foreign and new to me.

"Nayeon and I had broken up a long time ago. If you're worried about your relationship with her. Talk to her, I have nothing to do with Nayeon. We've cut ties," Despite feeling this stingy sensation, I wanted nothing to do with Nayeon's love life, that was off my limits. The last thing I want to do was destroy her relationship.

"Nayeon and I aren't dating if that's what you're worried about."

"Is that so? Then I have nothing to do with you then," I said when I was about to hang up the phone he spoke.

"Then you cheating isn't important to you then." That caught my attention.

"...Nayeon, already knows," I hesitantly said, I felt my heartache. Shit.

"It's sad to hear you say that. But it was worse to hear her cry about it. Oh if you only knew, how she tried acting as if she didn't know shit," I could feel his anger radiating through the phone. And I can't blame him.
