I went to the bar where Chaeyoung usually hung out when she was in deep thought or needed to waste her time. I find her sitting at the booth with her head hung low as she held the beer bottle.
I couldn't take my hat and mask off, despite having no popularity at all, JINHIT was a huge company and I had to be cautious
I sat opposite to her and she immediately looked at me, "Nayeon? Oh, hi Taehyung."
"Hey, Chaeng. Are you okay?"
"What do you think?" She cockily said. No doubt she was pissed, but why exactly? I mean I'm upset and devasted that Nayeon, the girl that I've been in love with for the past few years were now dating a douchebag who cheated on her. But why was Chaeyoung so mad?
"I just wanna ask..." I said when a bunch of lousy and loud group of people came into the pub, Chaeyoung groaned not liking the sound, "Their voices are so irritating," She stands up and walks out of the bar, I follow her worried she might get hurt, despite knowing Chaeyoung needs more than 1 beer to get drunk, it's better to be safe than sorry.
"So what did you want to ask me?" Chaeyoung said while she squatted down, ever so often taking a sip or two.
"Why are you acting like this?" I squatted down as well.
"Do you think how I'm acting right now is invalid?" She shot me a glare.
"No, no, no! Of course not, what you're feeling right now is valid. But why? I mean I— nothing."
She laughed at me, "We already know, you confessed to Nayeon on New Year's Eve."
My head turned in her direction immediately "Since when did you know?"
"Not long, Mina talked to Nayeon and she said you two had a bit of a fight. I guess Nayeon told everything to Mina and... not to me. "
"Are you jealous that Nayeon, told it to Mina and not you?" Chaeyoung looked at me bitterly.
"Of course, I am Tae! I've been Nayeon's best friend since we were in grade school! I know her better than anyone. I know about her ups and downs, all the stupid and disgusting things she's done this past decade. I was there for her, and the minute she needed someone to talk to, who does she turn to?" She took a huge gulp of alcohol and said, "Not me!"
"And here I am despite having a relationship, still tell her everything even though I'm forbidden from doing so! Because she's special to me," I looked at her, tears were building up in her eyes. I don't think this is a new issue, I think something has been going on for ages.
