Chap 8

Rowan pov

We wake up at dawn the next mourning. Today we are officially on vacation and we get up and get dressed for the journey if we leave after breakfast we will make it there by nightfall.  We  Start are way down to the kitchens and get our plate and eat and say goodbye to the court and leave for the hidden retreat.  we head outside to the open sky and shift to our alternete forms and go towards the stag horn mountains and we fly and fly and then the sun rises and Aelin looks and says look at how beautiful it is. I reply with I'm seeing something that is much more beautiful than it and can talk to. Rowan, you are to look at the sunset not me buzzard. Oh really I thought you were the most beautiful in the land. You got that right we are almost there. I will land first and catch you. I do not need to be caught I can land on my own buzzard. Oh really what happened last time you broke your wrist.  Fine next time. When we get closer we're we are above the retreat I shift and land on my feet and then she shifts like I did and lands standing in my ams while I spot her land and make sure she did not break her bones.  We go to the door and you can tell no one has been here in a while.

Loki POV back at the palace

While Rowan and Aelin are at the retreat I'm watching the avengers and it is getting annoying they want me to tell them where they are.  I turn to them all and yell and I usually never yell and say You do not need to know because all you would do is keep tabs on them for fury and I turn my head to fury and say you will never find them while they are gone I will not let you no matter the bribe they are treasured friends that I consider family and I will not betray them the ones who make me feel safe and not alone no matter the price you will never find them if you do I will kill you before any of you can say a word. I hear Thor say leave it be this is good for him he has loyalty and has it for what he believes in and we are all in the wrong for trying to spy on them this is there time alone leave them be they have let us come and have us shelter and are understanding to all of us no matter our haleritage and past let them be and then leaves. Fury then decided to voice his thoughts and say fine I will let you keep your secret but remember that I will not always let it fly. And he leaves and the rest follows. I walk through the castle till I'm outside and head to the stables and get a horse that is pure black and is named dark flame. I can tell this is Aelins horse i get the tack and cleaned her hooves and tacked up and got on and rode her into the sunset and with that I was free from my problems as they drifted away to never land in the back of my mind were the darkness bids it's home. I suddenly feel like I'm being followed and Thor is chasing after me but why. When he finally catches up due to me slowing to a walk he says we're are you going? I am riding to the sunset to find peace and my freedom and joy to we're no one else knows now good bye I bid you well I will return within the week and I click my tounge and push my legs in and loosen the reins and start a post gallop and I run as the gallop I ride away but Thor is still following I push dark flame into the dark of night we will blend easily with the night.

Thor POV

Why would Loki gallop into the night I can not catch up and night is decending upon the meadow. And I decide I will try to catch up but them they go even faster of course he would take the queens horse the fastest In the realms. I turn back and head Bach to the castle to tell the others about Loki. I run at a full out gallop pushing my horse to the limit and I get back to the palace in about 15 minutes and I run and tell them Loki is gone I do know were but said something about riding into the sunset to be able to finally be free and to get away from those who give off an era of hate and said he will be back but when can you help me find him. Cap speaks up and says yes but if we are the ones that give the hate how are we supposed to get him back without him running and what dose he mean by finally free. I do not wish to know what the phrase means.

Loki POV

I reach my hiding spot the river the place that brings peace and solace to those who seek. I go to the river and transport to the bottom and walk through the water to the cave and walk to the home I made myself. My home here is just how I left it I walk over to the bed and lay down for the night.

Aelin POV

The night we finally arrive we look for the key I hid in a fountain in the stag since it has a crevice in the horn the shape of a key and can not be seen by a naked eye unless you know it is there. Once we open the door and get settled we go outside in the night and gather some berries , leaves, and we hunt a deer and a wild pig and by luck find some eggs to. We get back to the retreat in about 3 hours it is now about 10 at night we skin and  the deer and pig and sort everything and some kisses and touches are welcomed despite we are making dinner witch is a salad and some ham. We store everything we sorted and leftovers in the fridge. We then head to the bedroom and get ready for bed we take a bath together and then get out and get ready for bed and brush our teeth Rowan wears his underwear to bed while I wear my thigh-length night gown to bed. I head to the bed and climb in and I feel the bed dip and Rowan's arms wrap around me and pull me close and feel his breath on my neck when he breathes. Right as I m almost asleep I whisper good night love you buzzard. I feel his breath on my neck when he says I love you to my Fireheart to whatever end. I say to whatever end our end is fine wherever it takes us as long as we are together. I feel his arms get tighter and I relax into them and relish the feeling of peacefulness and drift off to sleep at last.
