It was my 17th birthday, both Pattie's family and my own were holding a combined birthday party for me. Our father's cooked the meal together as both of them really enjoyed making food for people. Two men from different cultures with different taste buds. Ethan Clarence and my father, Jamie Jensen were learning new things from each other.
Our mothers were getting along quite nicely too. My mom and Lorna Clarence were in charge of the decorations and setting the party up. The two balanced out each other nicely. Through Pattie's mom, my mother became more laid back and loosened up more. On the other hand, through my mom, Pattie's mom became more organized and a bit more serious.
Pattie's brothers, Angelo and George were in charge of the snacks and games. Anything fun related. They definitely brought that to the table. Angelo made it really clear for his parents not to buy any ranch dressing, in case Kevin got any ideas with it. George also warned everyone to keep an eye on the other condiments. The warning was too late as Kevin got inspired again and decided to test out some mustard in front of everyone. Now I understood why everyone was disturbed by the ranch dressing story. It was still amusing to say at least, just really disgusting.
Ashley was bonding with Fredonia. Fred was incredibly talented with makeup and a conversation sparked between the two of them. Ashley was planning on asking our mother if she could dye her hair purple. Fredonia was inspiring to her. It was good to see my sister looking up to an older female figure.
Of course, this party wouldn't have been complete without my best friends, and my beautiful girlfriend. Apparently, Aiden had begun crushing on Lani and became brave enough to tell her. Lani was opened to the idea of dating Aiden and now they've been together for three months. Currently, Lani was sitting happily beside Aiden, wrapped in his arms. The two of them were extremely happy together. Lani could care less about whether Aiden was a trans male or not.
Pattie was wearing the same green dress she had worn to homecoming. It was a perfect colour for her tanned skin. She had returned from inside her house. Bringing out two cold cans of pop. The party was held at Pattie's house, as they had more space. The beautiful girl in the green dress sat directly on my lap, handing me the can of Ginger Ale. As a result of that, I pecked her on the cheek.
"Thank you. You're definitely the best present here. Looking so beautiful and all." I say, being sappy. My compliments still had the same effect on Pattie. Resulting in her tanned cheeks turning red.
"Oh hush you! You're the one who needs to be complimented. As it's your birthday! Just shut up you flirty manchild!." Pattie replied, partially flustered.
I gave her a smirk. "You know exactly how to shut me up. It's quite effective too."
"I swear to God Jensen, I'll grab a huge handful of that birthday cake and shove it in your face if you don't stop." Pattie jokingly threatened.
"I mean, I don't exactly want to be hand fed cake that way. It would guarantee I would taste better though." My comment just earned me a cold can of pop on my neck. Causing me to squirm and jump from the tempature.
"You get him Pats!" Gelo yelled to his little sister. Laughing at the childishness going on between his sister and her boyfriend.
Pattie turned her attention back to me, With a smirk of her own. "Want to try me again? You'll get a cold can of pop to the back next."
I raised my hands up in surrender. "Sorry! I can't help, but want to compliment my girl. I'd take a cold can to the nips if it meant reminding you how wonderful you are."
Pattie rolled her brown eyes. She gave in and kissed me on the lips. I could feel a smile grown on her lips as she pulled away. Pattie had an effect on me like no other person had. Except Rocky Allan, but that was in the past. I was focused on the now.
