~ chapter fifteen: time ~

it was my birthday

I stood on the stage,

breathless with happiness

and worries all vanishing

as I was reminded of my purpose in life:

to be an artist

and to be myself

thousands of fans were screaming my name

as I blew out the candles on my cake,

wishing for something nearly impossible

I then looked around

catching sight of my fans,

managers,

teammates,

family,

you

you all love me,

I remembered with a smile,

regardless of my mistakes

you grinned at me brightly as I straightened up,

reminding me of how far I've come

and how much further I've yet to go

we tend to stay quieter on camera,

annoyed with the company's scrutiny

and ship agenda

'taeten' is just as real as 'jaeyong',

you said once,

mocking the lack of taeten memes and edits

but I think the fans agree with my thoughts,

we're not meant to be anything more than just friends

terrified of losing our privacy and priviledges

but you stood next to me in the photo,

arm around my shoulder 

with a huge smile

and after the show,

you pulled me aside in the van

and gave me a hug,

one that made me feel like never letting go

'we made it,'

I murmured,

we made it to paris

and made the dream come true

'yes, we did'

you smiled a beautiful smile

and made my heart race for the thousandth time
