Taeyong was perched on a chair in his room, watching as raindrops traced patterns onto the glass in front of him. He sighed wistfully, ignoring the noises coming from the deep within the dorm's walls. The SuperM hyungs had come to visit NCT and WayV to meet the two soon-to-be cult members and last time Taeyong checked, Baekhyun and Lucas were chanting, "PAINT THE WALL! PAINT THE WALL!" over Chenle's obnoxious laughter. Taeyong didn't want to become privy to whatever that meant, which was why he was sitting alone, like the moody and lovesick boy he was. Taeyong was also craving a drink, but he was too lazy to get up and order one, so he was moping about his sad love life. Living like this was torturous, because everything around him reminded him of Ten.

Ten would bring him coffee, Ten would dance with him in practice rooms, Ten would secretly teach him English, Ten would surprise him with food packages when he was stressed, Ten would call him to remind him to sleep on time, Ten had asked him for a dance in the rain.

Great, now Taeyong was remembering how Ten had twirled him around, both of them lost in each other as they were drenched in water. Taeyong blushed as he remembered their proximity, lips within centimeters of each other, and how Ten had teased him mercilessly. Taemin had eventually found them outside and started reluctantly screaming at them to get inside before they fell sick during the tour. The two had curled up in a bed, gallons of hot tea and books besides them as they continued giggling and annoying Kai with their giddiness.

I cannot imagine living a life without you. He didn't want to distance himself from Ten, but Ten... intelligent, talented, cute, and humble Ten didn't love him in that way?  Taeyong couldn't be the person who'd captured his heart, no way. So.. what was the point in hoping? Taeyong had to move on somehow.

"Hyung!"

Speak of the devil. Ten entered his room, breathless and exhausted, but upon seeing Taeyong, a brilliant grin broke out onto his face. Taeyong's heart leaped in his throat, warmth pooling in his stomach as Ten approached him.

"Where were you? The hyungs came hours ago."

"I was practicing," came the nonchalant response, and despite Taeyong's resolve to remain aloof, he found himself frowning with concern.

"Tennie, what did I say about prac-"

"Chill out," Ten said, "I'm done for the day. I also..." Ten reached into his bag and pulled out a Starbucks drink, "got you your favorite pink drink."

Taeyong heaved a theatrical gasp and leaped up from the sofa, tackling Ten with a hug and showering him with a plethora of "thank you!"s.

"Ahh, Hyung, careful!"

Taeyong took the drink from Ten's hands and began to sip it, smiling a little at the pleasant sweetness. He glanced up at Ten, who was still smiling at him, and instinctively blushed. Why do you make it so hard to leave?

The two sat in relative silence, (excluding the shouts and whoops from outside Taeyong's room), and sipped on drinks. The tension had built up between them, and Taeyong had no idea how to relieve them of it. Taeyong finished his drink and sighed a little, resolving to rewatch the rain fall again.
