I fell to my knees as the beeping stopped and everyone left. One nurse came up to me and put a hand in my shoulder "I'm so sorry sir. You can say your final goodbyes if you want?" I stood up, shoulders hunched. Hannah gave me Jess and said something about Lewis punching a wall or something. I walked over to Cat's bed for the, probably, the last time. I sat down, with Jess in my arms, next to my none moving girlfriend. If her chest wasn't so still you would say she was just asleep, but no. That's not the case here. My girlfriend is dead! I took her hand in mine "C-Cat? You probably can't hear me but, I wanted to say I will always love you until the day I die a-and I'll take good care of our baby. I'll miss you will all my heart" I looked down at Jess who had moved her hand onto Cat's cheek.
I stood up ready to leave, and walked to the door. I placed my hand on the door handle, looking at Jessica to see if she was okay, and opened the door "I'll never forget you..." and I choked out. "You won't have to..." I stopped in my tracks "You big baby" I slowly turned around to see Cat, my dead girlfriend, sitting up looking at me "B-B-But you were..." She smiled slightly and patted the seat next to her, so I sat there "Well you know I have the shadow element and Elsie has her own and stuff?" I nod "Well it seems that Jess has one too! And that would be the life element! She brought me back to life!" I was gob smacked! Genuinely confused yet glad Cat is now alive again.
