my arranged wife (prologue)

chaeyoung gripped her black purse tightly as she felt tears swimming in her hazel orbs. her body was shivering due to the cold and her skin was paler than usual.

she watched as the gloved lady placed the urn of cremated ashes into the dug ground. silence filled the air in the quiet cemetery as the only sound heard was the pitter-patter of the soft rain.

she was a ball of sunshine. she was the perfect role model. she was her closest kin. they shared everything with each other, yet she failed to see the pain she was suffering from.

miscarriage.

alice suffered a miscarriage. her boyfriend left her when he found out about the child, breaking her fragile heart. the park parents were disappointed at their daughter as she was already arranged with the only son of their close friends, the jeons. chaeyoung was the only one who supported alice through her pain.

the day of alice's miscarriage, she completely lost her mind. she went into a state of depression while she was hospitalised. facing negligence from her peers and relatives, alice's emotional state plunged even deeper, but she always put up a strong front in front of chaeyoung.

the han river has always been a beautiful place, but for chaeyoung, that was where they found her sister's body.

chaeyoung blamed herself for not realising her sister's pain, but even if she knew, could she cheer alice up from her loss of her baby? could she have found a way to heal her heartbreak? could she have found peace within her sister's weak heart?
