johnny lawrence's point of view

Johnny watched as the blonde approached him. Her pace was brisk and he could tell she did not think of him and his friends showing up as a 'pleasant surprise'.

"Johnny, what are you doing here?" the blond girl asked, a subtle warning laced into her words.

Johnny wouldn't say he was afraid of her. But he wasn't exactly not afraid of the girl. She was a badass. In fact, that was the main reason he was here tonight. That and to see her.

Johnny shrugged in fake nonchalance, "Just wanted to see if you reconsidered my offer."

"I've already told you I'm not gonna join Cobra Kai," she replied with the same answer she had answered him for the past few weeks. He had seen her training by herself at the beach one day about three weeks ago and realized the skill she harbored in karate and how much of an asset she could be to the dojo.

He knew that Kreese would be reluctant to accept a girl. Normally, he wouldn't even consider the idea of bringing a girl in. But Johnny, unbeknownst to Mickey, had a major crush on her. Something he would never admit to out loud.

He thought that he could get her to reciprocate the attraction if he spent more time with her, hence the determination to get her to join the dojo.

"Look, can we just talk about it," Johnny pleaded with the Grady girl.

"For the last time, no. Now leave," Mickey turned around to return to the brown eyed boy Johnny had seen her flirting with when he had first arrived at the beach.

Johnny definitely didn't want her going back to him, so he did the first thing he thought of in order to stop her.

A hand grabbed Mickey's wrist.

She paused for a second before wrapping her trapped hand around his wrist and twisting his arm. The movement caused him to crouch down slightly. The girl released her grip and glared at the boy who was now rubbing his shoulder.

"I don't want to talk to you. Now leave!"

Johnny was nothing if not persistent. He had made a promise to himself that he wouldn't leave without talking to her and he intended to keep his promise.

"Well I do. So we're going to talk," he shot back at the girl.

"No we're not."

"Yes we are."

"No. We're. Not!"

"Yes. We. Are!"

Johnny watched Mickey close her eyes for a second before smiling stiffly at him.

"Actually, we just did talk. Had a whole conversation...so there you go. Now leave," Mickey said, bringing a frown onto the boy's face.

"You know that's the not the conversation we need to have." The blonde didn't listen to him and Johnny watched as she walked over to a blanket with a few other people and a radio sitting atop it. Mickey sat down and turned the volume on the radio almost all the way up.
