The pic is of Alex Evens our one and only River. Also just warning I'll be updating as much as I can but, I am a full time teen mom and go to school full time. So I am trying. Anyways hope you enjoy.

First day back, first day of torture, that's what today is going to be. As I walked out the door in my vans, black avenge seven fold t-shirt, ripped jeans and black hoodie, a group of kids stood at my bus stop were pointing and laughing. "Great," I said.

"What," River asked. He stood tall and lean. This black hair cut in a more Gothic "emo" cut and messy. His face soft and inviting but hard and commanding. His lips hung snakebites. The glint of mischief in his perfect baby blue eyes. He was perfect. His black jeans, black MCR t-shirt, black and white vans, and black hoodie.

"Nothing," he slipped his hand in mine. The squeak of tires echoed throughout the neighborhood. Music filled the air and the stench of popularity perforated the air we breathed. Oh no why today I asked myself. A red 2013 Chrysler 200 convertible pulled up to the curve.

"Hey losers," Holy said. Her blond hair billowing around her neck, she was a snob and sometimes I wanted to just mess up her perfect baby face. Her high cheek bones were highlighted by a pink blush and her blue eyes were matched with a copper color eyeshadow. Not only was she the captain of the cheerleaders but, she loved to rub it in my face. She looked at our joined hands. "Hey babe, look goth girl got herself a loser boyfriend."

Ryan sat next to her. He throw his head back and laughed. He had on his jersey. Number eighteen, the quarterback's number. It fit him well. His face was one of a warrior, black eye hear, scratch there, all from the football games. Our line men didn't block well so that put him in the place to be tackled, a lot. He had the eyes of a hawk and faster reflexes than most should. I guess that's why we won all of our games. His coco eyes glistened in the morning light. His broad shoulders pulled back. I despised them both, mister and misses' perfect.

Every day they did stuff to me none stop. From name calling to practical pranks, thanks to River life was actually bearable. He was my knight in shining armor. We've been friends since preschool, and my crush grew bigger every day. That thought put a smile on my face. "What are you smiling at Shelly," Ryan asked.

"Nothing," I answered, "Just a joke last night." I was always a bad liar but, thanks to the bus that drifted around the corner they left.

"Come on," He paused. "Shelby don't let them get to you like that," River said walking up the metal stairs of the bus into the interior. He must have seen my reaction. When ever I talk to them or even are around them it drains my energy. We sat down on the gray bus seats. As I looked out the window. His grip on my hand tightened. I looked at him and he just smiled. I laid my head on his shoulder. "Shelby you ok."

"Yeah just tired. Had a long night with mom and dad fighting and keeping Kenneth and Jewels from hearing it. It's been harder now that Ethan is at collage," I answered. We pulled into school and waited for the doors to open.

"They haven't stopped yet," River asked. He looked me in the eyes.

"No last night dad ended up on the couch." The bus door sounded and we rose hand in hand. I wasn't dating him (even though I wished I did) but he gave me strength, helping me through everything from bullies to my mom and dad fighting all the time. We walked into the building, following the sea of people who scurried into the warmth. I didn't stay in the cafeteria long only to say hi to Johnny and leave. I made my way to homeroom with River on my heals. I sat in my seat and put my head down.

"Good morning students, please stand for the pledge." We all stood and did as we were told. Then the bell for first period rang and I stood and walked out the door. The hall ways were packed with teens. I squeezed between a group of kids and opened the door to Mrs Randle's classroom.

"Morning class," she said smiling. Her red hair was put in ringlets and laid on her shoulder. "Well cuz its the first day you are going to have to hear me blubber on about rules and expectations all class."

Great I thought. I plugged in my headphone and started jamming to Three Days Grace.

"Um....... Shelby, I know that its a boring class but that doesn't mean you can block out the entire class now cough it up." Kids started snickering in the corner as I handed my prize possession to her. "Thank you."

My face was red and I felt the eyes burrowing themselves into my soul. Finally the bell sounded and Mrs. Randle handed me back my iPod and gave me the "our school is unplugged" speech and I jetted to my next class.
