Okay, I know it has been over a year since my last post. But I think it's time to finally get back into this fact book!

___________

The Original Drafts of The One Series (2011-2014) (Part1)

How It All Began:

2011. This was the year when I was on both Tumblr and Wattpad. I was posting mostly old fanfiction works, mainly because I wanted to finished the works despite the fandoms being dead. I also had an original series on here too, The Last One Standing. I also in college at the time. The American X Factor was about premiere. Glee was all the rage.

Then there was this one band I had rediscovered at the time. I don't remember how I stumbled upon at the time, but I did.

Savvy.

They were a Texas-based coed pop group from the early 2000s to the early 10s

They were a Texas-based coed pop group from the early 2000s to the early 10s. This band was on their way up as they had a TV series and a couple of singles. They were signed to a major label, ready to release an album. They did have an album in 2004, but they were an eight-piece. They obviously split up by the mid 10s. I don't know the reasons. I could only figure it was both management and label issues as they never released the album they were supposed to release after working hard on it.

I actually made an author's note chapter regarding this band in the original draft of Let Me Be The One. But I do remember being inspired by this band to write a story loosely based off of them. I clearly also remembered my Press Pause series, so clearly I merged the two. Oh, and I was also inspired by The X Factor. So that was another merge.

I do remember the original basic plot for this series, so here what it was supposed to be:

In 2004 Boston, UTurn was formed by a couple of students in a high school to compete on a regional TV competition. They win and get signed to an independent record label. They add more people to the band to become an eight-piece. They release one album. It stays like that until they get signed onto a major label. They do a TV series and release a major label album.

Luckily, that never stayed being the plot.  I don't know when things started to change, but I clearly had a better idea for UTurn and their story. Are the Savvy inspirations still in the final version of this series? I mean, the only things that are still left are UTurn gets signed to an independent label and get a TV series a few years later. But other than that, they're absolutely nothing like Savvy. Oh, in Savvy, they had a member named Andrew. UTurn has an Andrew. So there you go!

The Process:

I first started writing Let Me Be The One in fall of 2011. I was busy with college at the time, but I wrote it anyway. I remember I didn't have a update schedule at the time. I would just post the chapter the moment I was done, even if it was late at night. Based on the properties of the original file, it was modified in December 2011. I'm pretty sure that was when I last uploaded the final chapter.
