Ever wondered what inspired "The One Series"? Ever thought about the characters? This book will give you all the details on this series, from its origins to the inspirations. There will be major spoilers, but go spoil yourself anyway!
Okay, I was supposed to post this a while back, but, you know, life and work happens. So here we are!

So remember that post I made about the true origin of UTurn and The One Series? Well, recently I remembered I had two other versions that I had in mind, but never wrote!
The first incarnation was, well, a headcannon type of fanfiction of Arthur from when I was about 13.

Yeah, I know. Let me explain:
So when I was 13, there was this Arthur special called "Arthur, It's Only Rock N Roll." The Backstreet Boys were guest stars. Long story short, it was about Francine forming a band as a counteract on pop groups. Her band, U*Stink, went through some ups and far downs, but they got to perform in front of a large audience with the Backstreet Boys. They split up right afterwards.
I remember thinking that special was so awesome. I still think this way to this day. It was that good. Anyway, I never wrote this, but there is a hint of evidence that I was seriously considering making this particular headcannon a thing:
So basically the story would've been that the original members minus one member would reform the band, add a few more people, and turn U*Stink into a vocal pop group. Think A*Teens meets Jump5 meets S Club 7, hence it the additional members and the band's music style.
So essentially the members I had in back then, if I remember correctly were these: Francine, Binky, Fern, Molly, Arthur, Buster...and thats it I think.
If this were to be compared to The One Series today, this would be the cast: Alyson, Andrew, Bailey, Amanda, Justin, and Ethan.
The evidence I do have that I was attempting to make this a thing is on my files. Back then, there was a CD label maker program on the computer. I used that to make fake album tracklistings. I have that for this version of UTurn. No, I'm not going to show that stuff. It's way too cringy for the public.
Oh, and this is all also the origin of the band name UTurn. Now if I get told I'll need to change it because of the whole origins as a headcannon Arthur fanfiction, their new name will be The Anthem. Or a number Anthem. Whichever one.

The second unwritten incarnation was during the whole Popstars incarnation. Basically it's that incarnation crossed over with S Club 8. At that time, I was inspired by Phil of The Future and the Time Machine book. So, based on my memories, this was the plot:
The guy from that Time Machine book appears in 2002, or 2001. One or the other, but it was all in London. This guy faces S Club 8 when they were about 12/13. I think, somehow, that same guy goes to America, and forms the Early!UTurn. I'm pretty sure they were named "S Club Juniors" since they were, roughly, five years younger than the OG S Club 8 members. I don't remember much else other than some batshit crazy, time-travel stuff happens.
Oh, and early!Andrew and early!Alyson were definitely a thing. I think, if I remember correctly, how they became a couple is similar to The One Series' backstory of Andyson's relationship. They started off hating each other, but eventually. a few years later, fall in love.
Unfortunately I didn't make any banners for that story either. The one above is one I made specifically for this chapter. Now, when the memories for this story started to come back to me, I came up with an idea: Actually turn this story into a short story, but with Connect8 and the current cast of UTurn.
Hear me out: It'll be part of the UTurn Fanfiction Anthology book! I'm not sure how many chapters this one will have, but very likely a couple of chapters. It'll be a little crazy, and my third foray into writing YA Sci-Fi. It'll also be written in the style of a fanfiction, which means none of this will be canon to the actual series. I might have moments that'll break the story to get the perspective of the UTurn members themselves reading the story, but yeah! That's the plan.
As to who'll join UTurn based on the photo, you'll find out this summer for the relaunch of second book of The One Series, The Wanted. So keep an eye out for that one.
