When Chan had travelled to Daegu, he did not expect to find himself sitting at the Yang dinner table, but life had an interesting way of throwing surprises his way lately. For someone who had been an unexpected guest, he had been welcomed in with open arms. The Yang's were friendly, kind and courteous, immediately making Chan feel at home, which only made him feel more guilty. He wasn't supposed to be here, and yet they made him feel as if he were meant to be sitting at their table in their family home.

He had gone through all the formalities, introducing himself, what he did for work, and how he knew Misun. Which only turned into endless questions regarding their relationship and why he hadn't joined Misun from the beginning of her trip. He was surprised to find Misun answering for him, saying he had been tied up with work and that they wanted to surprise them during the last few days when he was free.

Chan tried his best to play along, avoiding Jeongin's gaze as much as possible. He knew the truth after all, at least part of the truth. He knew it wasn't a planned situation, if it were, Misun wouldn't have been as surprised as she was at seeing Chan in the convenience store. Jeongin looked between Chan and his sister, confusion and suspicion written on his face, but kept quiet, and for that Chan was grateful.

He had no doubt in his mind that Jeongin would interrogate either him or Misun regarding the truth, he just hoped he could make up another lie that sounded believable enough. After all, telling him he had followed his sister because he was so hell-bent on making sure nothing happened to her wouldn't go over well. The sentiment was there in Chan's opinion, but the execution of that sentiment was too twisted to make him seem like an appropriate choice for a boyfriend.

Personally, he wouldn't let his opinion get in the way of the two of them, but he would appreciate the approval to make everything easier. He didn't need Jeongin's opinion to influence Misun in any way, especially in the form of making her realize how crazy he had been acting, especially recently.

He was already on thin ice when it came to the man at the bar, with Jihoon, and now he had stalking to add to his list. All he hoped for was for Misun to focus on the reason for him being so protective and intentions, he couldn't help how much she had dug into him, if she was ripped away from him he genuinely wouldn't know what would happen, or what he would do. Truthfully, he was scared of what he would end up doing if Misun was taken from him. He imagined it would feel as if he were expected to breathe without oxygen, an impossible expectation, a task he would only die from trying to accomplish. Misun was his oxygen, his breath, his life. And he would fight for her until he was six feet under.

After what felt like an eternity later, dinner and the endless questions had finally come to an end. Chan had thanked the Yang's and offered to help clean the dishes, partly out of respect and partly out of hope that he would show more reasons to be approved by the family. This left Misun to leave the room with Jeongin, not without her leaving a kiss on Chan's cheek, but instead of feeling genuine, it almost felt like a formality. Chan had no doubt in his mind that she was going to be off regarding this entire situation for a while. Misun had every right to that, but Chan still found it irritating, he did have good intentions after all.
