Meanwhile.....

Patrick took King John into his home, which was not far away from the Lake and had his wife, Rose, tend to John's dirty wounds. It was dark out and there was nothing but silence out, not even the frogs croaked.

Suddenly they heard the movement of something from outside. Tim looked through the window and to his surprise he saw a pack of angry wolves. They wore threatening expressions and crept closer to the house.

"Hide!" He whispered harshly as he looked secretly through the window and saw the large amount of wolves ready to kill. Fear crept through his bones for his family that were now in danger.

He grabbed his sword and marched outside to defend his home and his family from the evil that was now upon them. There he stood outside the door of his little home, in front of the death creatures standing against them all alone with no one by his side.

Thinking of the easy kill, the beasts made their first move and jumped at Patrick, but the first Wolf obtained nothing but a stab to the chest area and immediately fell limp beside a heavy breathing Patrick.

The others growled loudly as they looked at the now dead wolf and attacked Patrick. Each time they came, they fell. They were no match for the strength that Patrick had. That was until he started to grow tired, they kept coming more and more. Patrick was being cornered with no place to go, tired as the adrenaline drained from his body he now felt the wounds that burnt his skin and fell to the ground. His head bowed as he prayed, the wolves watched him and somehow, humour laced their features as they looked at his desperate self.

Patrick kept praying but ended it with a smile of acceptance and faith.

A beast with nothing but blood in his eyes jumped high into the night sky prepared to finish the kill....

....but then the door opened and his son jumped out cutting the head of the beast clean off his body. Now standing by his side was his son and his beautiful wife.

"If we have to fight we'll fight together," his son looked at him with determination within his eyes.

"If we have to die, we'll die together," the sincerity and finality left no room for an argument.

Feeling a new surge of energy, Patrick stood in defence mode prepared on giving this the best that he had. There was just something about knowing that you're not alone that brings confidence within you. This is why Patrick's family meant everything to him.

The beasts of course cared not for the scene they had just witnessed a few minutes ago. Saliva dripped from their canines and with hungry eyes strained on Patrick's they growled harshly. The werewolves started to charge towards the family, King John included, teeth bared and claws sharp ready to kill but as they came, they fell.

All of Patrick's training had paid off, as Tim sliced the stomach off one wolf, Hanna stabbed the other and Rose slammed a hammer against the head of one who was about to attack Patrick from his right side as he focused on killing the ones before him. John shaking, yet confidently threw a knife towards a large black wolf who charged at him with its claws raised and it shot straight through its eye making it fall and whimper.

As they were all busy trying to take down wolves, one werewolf found an opportunity to strike Tim and kill him off. He jumped into the night's sky and as he fell down towards Tim he opened his mouth and clamped down hard on his head. The sound of bones breaking and neck snapping was now the only thing being heard within the cold, dark forest. The body fell limp against the ground and the Wolf separated the head from the body, Hanna screamed loudly as Patrick's heart froze. Tim stood in shock as the sight of his mother's head laying a few feet away from her body.

She saved his life...

Rose saw the beast coming to attack her son and without hesitation, she shoved him away, sacrificing herself for him.

His blood boiled along with the raging pain within his heart. Patrick yelled loudly as he charged towards the beasts, slicing heads and claws off and stabbing eyes and chests with immediate speed. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a werewolf running full sprint towards him. Unfortunately he didn't react in time, thus providing the beast with the opportunity of clamping down on his arm making him cry out in pain. Seeing him stuck within his demise Hanna cried out.

"No!"

Tim's head swivel around to her and found her staring at her father and the wolves surrounding him with tears in her eyes.

"Father...NO!!"

The remaining wolves pounced onto Patrick and tore his arms off before taking him deeper into the forest.

"We have to go, NOW!!" Said king John. Him too had tears within his eyes as he hurriedly gathered Hanna in his arms.

"Tim! We cannot stay here, they'll kill us," he yelled at Tim who was shaking with tears running down his face.

"Tim!"

Timothy's eyes snapped to his and he nodded sharply and all three of them rushed away and out of the forest.

As they took Patrick's almost lifeless body deeper in the forest to where Harold was Tim, Hanna and John were long gone.

As the beasts tugged Patrick directly in front of Harold, the commander laughed loudly.

"Pathetic..." He growled. Patrick tried his best to open up his eyes and stay alive but his body was too weak. He could feel his soul slipping from his body.Harold spat at Patrick's eye and spoke.

"I told you I'd get my revenge didn't I? Haha, look at you...." Harold held his sword within both of his hands in the air before striking it down against Patrick's neck. The blade sliced right through his skin and bones and ended his life right then and there.

Feeling satisfied Harold smiled.

"Turn back, let's go! We have a king to fool and a kingdom to take over,"
