--T.JOSEPHPatrick gathered himself from the ground and dusted off the dirt from his clothes passing the tree his son was behind he gruffly muttered.
"I told u to run, not hide behind an old tree"
"Dad I was going to, bu--but I couldn't just leave u there alone. What if they had hurt you?" Tim's voice shook and in comfort, his father hugged him.
"I'm okay my son"
As they began walking again, Tim hesitantly stopped before resting his hand on his fathers shoulder.
"Um--hey dad?"
Patrick stopped to look at his son--his one and only son that looked exactly like him. The son who obtained his same shaggy brown hair, from the high cheek bones to the sharp jawline. The only thing that had been different we're his eyes, he carried his mother's ocean eyes. Smiling to himself he answered.
"Yes my son?"
"I never knew you could fight. How....?" The confusion within his son's voice was evident. His thick eyebrows were drawn together and his face was scrunched. The same exact facial expression his mother posed when she was confused. He chuckled before responding to his son. "Well there's a lot of things you don't know about me son", and dismissively waved his hands in the air and carried on walking towards their little cottage in the woods.

Their home came into view as they walked down the grass cleared path.
"Oh and son?", Patrick nudged his son as they neared their home.
"Yes dad?"
"Not a word to your mom about any of this okay...?", he whispered before stepping in front of the door. Tim reassuringly nodded in response to his father and not long after, they entered their home and saw both Hanna and Rose moving swiftly around the small kitchen, trying not to run into each other and throw down the food they were trying to put onto the table. The footsteps captured Rose's and a bright smile played across her lips when she saw her tired husband and son.
"Hey mama", Tim greeted and kissed her upon her cheeks. His mom looked up at his tall frame and grinned.
"You're so much like your dad. Come on now, dinner is almost ready to take a bath."
"Yes ma'am", he saluted before walking out of the kitchen, passing and greeting his sister Hanna in the process.
Patrick had already checked up on Hanna and greeted his daughter fairly, before heading to his beautiful wife who gazed at him with striking eyes.
"Hello darling!", he grunted as he lifted her into a tight hug, deeply inhaling her scent. She squeaked in surprise and giggled at her husband before groaning.
"Sweetheart!!! You're so sticky", she giggled softly and when he placed her back onto the carpeted floor he planted a gentle kiss on her lips and tucked her long charcoal coloured hair behind her ear.
"Are u ok?", he asked as he stared deeply into her ocean eyes.
Staring back into his honey coloured orbs she smiled up at him and blushed. "I'm perfect. I hope today wasn't too hard on you and Tim."
"It wasn't darling, I will take a shower okay, pumpkin", he said quickly before rushing off towards the bathroom.
"Hanna?!"
"Yes mama?"
"Come on, let's continue to prepare dinner sweetheart"
"Okay mom", Hanna answered as she walked back into the kitchen to assist her mom. They both carefully put together the plates, utensils and cups onto the table after dishing out their dinner and by the time sundown came they were all sitting in their seats saying grace as their hands were held together by each other.
They talked and dug into their meals right after their prayers and laughter echoed throughout the house. If only they knew... What was yet to come the following day.
