My Hero Academia x Male Reader

Forgive My Stubbornness,

Mina: Hmm... do you think something is wrong with (Y/n)?

The pink girl took note of you across the way, she and a few of her friends taking a pause in the intense training that had commenced at the camp. As she sipped on water, she couldn't help but notice you with a gloomy look crossing your face, tiny decaying sculptures surrounding you. The first to take notice was Tsuyu, glancing over only to internally frown, wondering what had been going on with you.

Ochaco: Do you think it can be due to the training? If I had to drink lemon juice and other weird stuff to refill my Quirk I would get sick too...

The browned haired girl Ochaco pitched in next, leading the other two girls with them to speak up. The first to speak was a rather quiet girl, glancing to look over at you.

Kyoka: (L/n)? I haven't spoken with him much outside of the occasional chat and that time at the school festival.

Momo: Our last major encounter was... awkward. I helped him to the infirmary but in this case, I haven't spent much time with him either.

The girls spoke to each other quietly, each stealing glancing at you as you continued to stretch even as you took a break to drink something normal. Mina scratched at her head as she let out a sigh. She liked to think she was close with you, the whole teasing about being a knight thing was sort of the dynamic between you and her but the trip on the bus to the camp, she could tell something was wrong, the look of uncertainty, fear, and anger in your eyes... well... eye... it kind of disturbed her. It was why when you lifted your hand toward her, she playfully pressed her face into it, hoping you would go back to normal if for a brief moment. But was she really close enough to care about you like that? Mina felt her gaze drop to look at the worried face of Tsu. Her eternal feelings melting out onto her face as she gazed at you. In a way... Mina could feel a slight bit of jealousy fill her chest, wondering what it would be like to spend time with you all the time like Tsu.

Ochaco: Well why don't we all ask him?

Kyoka: All of us going seems kinda weird.

Ochaco: Well then what about Tsu? Or Mina? They seem really close to (Y/n)!

Mina: A-Ah no way! It should be Tsu! 

Tsuyu paused for a moment before turning to the rest of the girls. 

Tsuyu: I tried asking (Y/n) what was wrong but he wouldn't say anything, ribbit.

Momo: Well he could be just upset at training.

Tsuyu: He has been like this for a while. Ever since the school festival, I think.

Mina: Well... he could just be going through boy stuff!

Kyoka: Boy stuff?

Mina: You know the stuff boys do behind closed doors~

Momo: What are you talking abou-

Kyoka: No no no we don't need an explanation!

Mina giggled softly as Kyoka got flustered, waving her hands at Mina as Momo simply looked confused. Ochaco held back a giggle herself but managed to speak out.

Ochaco: Still I thin-

Though she didn't get to speak out for long as Eraserhead called out and the training regime began once more. The girls gave one last look at your depressed form before returning to the grueling process.

It felt like time simply flew past you. Your recognition of the event not even registering as you had failed in replicating your events from yesterday in the springs. It just seemed like you were drained no matter what you did from eating to training, your mind and body not in it as your jumbled cocktail of emotions ate away at you, ranging from a short and blistering temper to intense feelings of dread of sadness. You often had to rub your face just to reclock in, not sure if you were missing anything as you spent the majority of time in your head trying to work through everything. Now you found yourself in the middle of an explanation of some sorts. The teachers happily explained this haunted trail that they decided to whip up for your efforts, though your throbbing muscles wanted nothing but to sleep. 

???: (L/n)! You're being assigned to go through the trail with Midoriya!

You blinked your eyes softly looking up in time to find the green-haired boy awkwardly moving next to you.

Izuku: A-Ah great. I thought I was gonna be all alone. I'm glad you're here with us (Y-Y/n).

(Y/n): Glad I'm useful to someone.

You spoke softly, stretching a bit to try and quiet the pained muscles. As you and Izuku waited for your turns in the trail you couldn't help but feel your attention drawn somewhere. you wanted to blame Jack and say he was doing it, but knowing your luck it probably would be him. You turned your gaze softly to the treeline. It was then you thought you saw something. It couldn't have just been you though right? You questioned softly as you looked next to you to find Izuku mumbling about something. You let out a sigh and found that the rest of the students were too busy conversing and giggling about other topics. You decided that you would take the moment to walk off to try and follow the figure, at least finding something interesting while you waited. Maybe it was Mina sneaking out from her extra classes? At least you could waste time hiding with her for a bit. You shambled off, not expecting anyone to notice you gone of course unless it had to do with them making fun of your eye or your stupid Quirk. It pissed you off to no end that those freaking- 

You smacked yourself softly on the face to force out your line of thought, not wanting to go down that path as you breached the trees and followed the skipping figure. 

???: Do you think it will be this easy?

???: The kid doesn't look so hot, so even if he puts up a fight it won't take long, then we can continue with the plan.

Sudden voices in the trees around you filled your ears as you tried to sharpen your exhausting skills. You grit your teeth in anticipation and absentmindedly reached for a branch or stick to make a creature only to be completely blindsided with a firm stick to the back of the neck. You stumbled forward a bit, letting out a strained gasp as you turned around only to catch a sliver of light on a well-dressed person with a mask.

???: Damnit kid why couldn't you just drop and make this easy for me?

(Y/n): W-What... Ja-

You were once more blindsided as someone else decided to finish the job for the masked figure, clocking you in the left temple with a vicious punch that had you out before you hit the ground.

???: Was it really that tough old man?

???: Shut the hell up brat, we got him didn't we?

???: Yay! Now (Y/n) will come and play with us!

???: If he wakes up and figures out what's going on then he is gonna be pissed at all of us, and in this state, it will be even worse than usual.

???: Then hurry your ass up and get him back to the hideout, Kurogiri will handle it from there.

???: I wish I could be there when he wakes up~ It would be so cute waking up next to (Y/n)~

The masked figure attempted to pinch his nose but hit the mask, growing tired of this pair. 

???: I've done my job-

???: Poorly.

???: Shut. I'll finish up with this one so you two go finish the rest of the plan.

The two acknowledged the male before wandering off, heading to their respective spots in the upcoming event. The figure turned to your limp body and managed to pick you up, throwing you over his shoulder as he started walking. 

Jack: Don't you worry, kid. Once you wake up I'll explain everything and we can go from there. You just have to trust your old pal Jack~

The male spoke with a concerned chuckle as he sauntered away, ready to get you away from those heroes as far as he could. Though even Jack wasn't prepared for the lengths some people will go when it comes to ideology and war...
