Fire. Flames. Swirling into darkness. Black. Empty. Then a spotlight, golden scales, obsidian eyes, freckled snout, sideways grin. "Qibli!" Still as a statue. Billowing clouds. Grey storm. Then he was gone. "QIBLI!"

Winter's eyes snapped open. For a moment his surroundings were blurred. Then as clear as day, an absence filled the room. No soft snoring, no gentle stirring, no warm aurora, and no sign of the golden Sandwing. His ledge was empty.

Probably crying to himself somewhere. Pathetic Sandwing.

though the thought of QIbli crying alone, made Winter shiver to his wingtips. Leaping off his ledge, Winter went to look for Qibli. Soaring through misty morning air, with no sight of the Sandwing, Winter found himself worried and getting anxious by each dreadful minute. "QIBLI"

What have I done?! He's left because of me. It's all my fault.

"Moon, I know we got off on the wrong talon, but I need your help"

"Qibli's gone."

thanks for sticking with me this long, I don't deserve any of you.

(also sorry it's short)
