Chapter 5- The Time I Visited the Wolf Den.
"You live in the middle of the woods?" was the first thing I asked as I hopped out of his truck, and snorted. "You know, when they say werewolves live in the middle of the woods, I didn't actually think, they lived in the middle of the fucking woods."
"Well, that's what created the whole illusion of the rumor." Marcus said, and walked up to the front porch.
Rolling my eyes, I followed him, and stared up at the house. It had grey brick stone walls that towered up about four stories by the looks of it. Huh, I always thought it had all shacks in the middle of the woods, but bam! A big ol' modern looking house. I shook my head and walked into the house.
When you walk in the house, you're greeted by the living room, and the kitchen. Two grand staircases at either side. The living room, and kitchen was deserted as we walked pass. We walked three times up the stair case, and on the last level we turned right, and Marcus opened a door, and walked in spreading his arms open he looked at me.
"Welcome, to el suite Marcus!" he said and flopped down on his bed.
I turned and scanned my eyes around the room. Typical guy room. Posters of bands, girls, basketball. A bed to the corner, where he was lying down, sheets made. Desk to the corner. Two glass doors caught my eye. I walked straight over to it and opened it. It leads out to a balcony that overlooked all of Mortem Falls. The hospital, buildings, houses, the grocery.. I looked down at the woods, just as I heard Marcus follow me outside, and stood next to me leaning over the railing.
"This doesn't make sense." I muttered. "The guys and I looked through all these woods, looking for your pack."
"You guys didn't think we would've gotten a witch to cloak the den?" Marcus asked with a chuckle.
"The den? That's what you call this place?" I rolled my eyes. "And how'd you get a witch? They haven't been any in town for years."
"That was a long time ago, the alpha back then, got a witch to cloak the place, before I became alpha." Marcus said, he looked deep in thought.
"Who else lives here?" I asked.
"I live here most of the time with just me and a few guys, but every full moon young betas from my pack come here to stay the night. They learn to control their shifts here. If they're too out of control we lock them in the basement cells." Marcus said.
"Sounds fun." I said sarcastically. But I did notice how he didn't mention anything about his parents, I dropped the subject, and walked back into his bedroom. "Where's your bathroom? I should take a bath and head back before Lewis loses his head."
Marcus laughed, and pointed to the bathroom door, just as his room door opened, and a girl walked in.
"Marcus I need to borrow-'' she stopped mid-sentence seeing me in the room. "Who the hell are you?" she asked a little hotly, fire in her eyes. She looked like sixteen, she had straight black hair and she wore, ripped up jeans and a flannel shirt.
I raised my eyebrows. "I should be asking you the same question."
"I'm Kaiya. Now who the hell are you?" she demanded.
"I'm Aviva."
"You brought a hunter into the den?" Kaiya shrieked at Marcus.
"Oh, so you've heard of me?" I asked smugly.
Marcus shot me a glare. "Look Kaiya its cool, we're friends. Do me a favor and lend her some clothes for me. I'll pay you back."
Kaiya gave me a onceover, "Fine." She grumbled and fled out of the room.
