Like the plan stated, me and Hiccup were going to go to find out as much stuff as possible. Who knew that a tiny boy like that could be so good at sneaking around, especially if he was the son of a chief.
It was the weirdest thing ever; two youths tracking sand down just to find some man who can ruin the lives of every child in the world. Not a strange task at all. It is also not the least bit pressuring on the two of us. The four of us really since the other two would face the man who is responsible for all of this.
"What are we even looking for?" I muttered to no one in specific, but that Hiccup boy still answered.
"I do not think anyone knows the answer to that, except for maybe that weird sand type Jack was talking about earlier." he answered and I sighed deeply.
"Yes, because that was not obvious at all." I muttered and he sighed slightly, staring at me while doing so. It almost looked like he could not keep his eyes away, his eyes that had a sad glint in them. "What?" I asked and he shook his head back to reality.
"Oh, nothing. You just... you just remind me of someone." he said and I raised an eyebrow at him, ushering for him to elaborate. "My girlfriend back at home. She looks nothing like you, but she has a similar attitude." he said and I scoffed.
"I do not have an attitude, besides me and your girlfriend are very different."
"How are you guys different?" he asked and I gave him a glare as we continued in our search.
"Unlike her, I do not like boys." I said and he nodded slowly, looking like he understood something, as if there was something to understand.
"So, do you like girls then?" he asked, the chock from his question making me fall on the hem of my shirt. I landed face first in the grass while he tried not to laugh. I turned around to see his hand out to help me up. Ignoring it, I stood up with a sigh.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I growled and he flinched slightly at the harsh in my words.
"Nothing. I just asked if you liked girls since you do not like boys. It was just a question red, no need to take it so seriously." he said and I huffed.
"Of course I take it seriously, how could you ask that. I could never like girls!" I snarled and he gave me a questioning glance.
"Why not?"
"Because it is illegal. Liking the same gender is an illness." I said, should he not know this already?
"Not where I am from. Us vikings think it is alright for people to love people, no matter what their gender is. It is fine if you like girls you know."
"No it is not. The people would want my head if they found out about it." I said and he gave me a sad look, making me angrier. "Not that they can find anything out since I do not like girls." I continued before sticking my gaze at the ground before me. I was straight, right?
