The coldness of the night thickened through the air and the moisture trickled down my veins

The coldness of the night thickened through the air and the moisture trickled down my veins. I breathed heavily as the smell of frost filled my lungs deeply. My eyes drifted to the sight ahead of me, I watched as the black lamppost flickered - being the only source of light. I watched as the trees sway in the direction of the strong wind. The soaked ground beneath me created puddles, indicating that it had rained heavily just the night before. The wind blew through my hair as I took a step forward.

Suddenly, the same man appeared in my dreams, the man that was constantly there. This time however, I saw his whole face and I wasn't watching from a bird's eye view. I was standing right in front of him as he stared directly into my eyes. The man was black, had no hair on his head and his eyes were brown although they carried a hint of danger and evil within them. My breath hitched as he spoke words. "I will kill you. I will make you suffer, everything you hold dear will be destroyed." He exclaimed with evident in his voice. My face was distort as he circled around me. "You're weak, pathetic, once I kill you, nobody will be able to stop me. Once I'm done with you, you will beg for me to relieve you to a death sentence." He stated as he laughed mischievously and disappeared into thin air. The words 'I will kill you and everything you hold dear' ran through my mind. I felt useless, empty and I allowed the feeling of despair to sallow me whole...

I immediately forced myself awake, my eyes split wide open and I sat up whilst I inhaled heavily. Klaus opened his eyes at my pounding heart rate and my uneven breathing. "Hey, Sky what is it? Are you okay?" Klaus said as concerned was evident in his voice.

I took a breath before I explained myself. "It was a nightmare, the same nightmare I have been having since I can remember. In the same place, an open street with the same exact stupid lamppost, nowhere to go and nowhere to run. Except I was the one who the man was talking to. It's usually not me, never me." I exclaimed as my anxiety grew even more as I spoke.

Klaus gently wrapped his arm around my waist as support. "Who is this man? Did you see his face?" Klaus asked me as he stroked my arm comfortingly.

"I don't know who he is but I saw his face. I have always seen the back or the side of him, my vision never let me see him. He felt dangerous, I could sense the power he possessed, I have never seen anything like it... apart from my own power. He said that he would kill me and everything I hold most dear. He said I was weak and pathetic." I replied as my voice became more uneven, my tone dropped an octave and my hand was shaking vigorously.

Klaus grabbed my hand and turned towards me. "Hey.. he won't hurt you, not when I'm around. I will always protect you Sky.. I will always be here." Klaus spoke with certainty as I nodded vigorously. Klaus then immediately enveloped me in a hug reassuringly. He ran his hands through my hair in hope to sooth me. I wrapped my arms around him tightly, praying he would never leave my side.

Klaus kept me in his arms as I fell back to sleep, he held me tightly as he kissed the top of my head whispering words of encouragement in my ear.
