Maggie nervously walked over to the lab table and sat down next to the boy.
"Hi, my name is Maggie Stevens, I'm new here."
"Hi, my name is Eli Dalton, welcome to Bentley High School."
As the class went on Maggie found herself glancing at Eli out of the corner of her eye. He had shaggy brown hair and dark blue eyes. She couldn't tell how tall he was because he was sitting down. But he was wearing dark jeans, a white t-shirt, and a nice Hawaiian shirt. The class was pretty boring in Maggie's opinion. After the bell rang she grabbed her bag and walked towards the front door. She saw Eli walk into the gym and wondered where he was going. Once she got out the door she climbed onto the bus.
Once she got home she said hi to her mom and grabbed some pretzels and went up to her room. She put down her backpack and plopped onto her bed, scrolling through social media. She grabbed her book from her backpack and began to read.
The next thing Maggie knew she had finished the entire book. She went downstairs to where her mom was sitting at the kitchen counter, something looked wrong.
"Mom, is everything okay?"
Her mom looked up quickly "Yes honey, everything is fine. Just a rough day at work. Are you okay with just ordering some takeout tonight?"
You nodded as you went to grab your laptop to order the food. She sat at the counter with her mom as they talked about their days. Once the food came Maggie's mom disappeared into her room. It felt off to Maggie because her mom never spent time in her room other than sleep. But she shrugged it off and walked into the living room with her food.
She turned some Netflix and ate her food. Once she was finished it was about 9 o'clock. Maggie threw she trash away and went to take a shower. She walked past her moms room and heard quiet crying. Maggie went to open the door to find it locked, than the room fell silent. Maggie stood there for a second there for a second than moved on.
She went to her room and grabbed some cotton plaid pajama pants and a gray t-shirt and walked to the bathroom. She got in the shower and couldn't help but think about Eli. She got out of the shower and changed into her pajamas and washed her face. She brushed her hair and put it into a braid.
She looked at her phone and saw an Instagram notification
