After we got all the boxes off of the truck and into the house, about an hour or so had passed and we were starving. We decided that it would be best for me to go get the pizza, dad take the moving truck to a rental place or something and mom wanted to stay and find the plates for us to eat on.
"Honey, have you seen where i put the keys to the moving truck?" My dad yelled to my mom, looking in rooms and going through boxes to see if he had dropped them inside on accident.
"Umm, I'm not sure." My mom responded from the room over.
"DAD, i think i saw you drop them in the den earlier. Check in there." I say, tying my shoes in front of the front door. Dad walks into the den and looks around for a few seconds before he spots them on a box. He grabs the keys and walks towards the door where I am now standing.
"Thanks Bean, be safe out there. We don't really know the area that well yet so just watch out, okay?" Dad says with a serious look on his face.
"She'll be just fine Jace, honey. She is 17 remember?" My mom yells from the kitchen, looking for the box with the plates in it.
"I know... i just don't want her getting lost or hurt or kidna—" i cut his ramble short
"Dad, I'll be fine. It's only a few blocks away. Plus I did actually learn something from those self defense classes you made me go to." I say and he laughs a little.
"Okay Bean, I just want you to be careful." He says and places a kiss on the top of my head
"I will be, promise. Love you dad." I say with a smile. "Love you too little Bean." He responds.
" I hate to interrupt this father daughter moment but you both better get going soon. The rental place closes in an hour and a half and I'm starving so please can y'all go now. I found the plate so please hurry back." Mom says while walking towards us.
"Oh okay well i'll get going now. I love you both." I say grabbing my skateboard from near the door.
"Love you too Tate." Mom replies.
I wave to them both and open the door and walk out. I hear dad say bye to mom before he walks out after me. I put my headphones on and played some music from my iPod. I hopped on my skateboard and headed in the direction that mom told me she saw the pizza place in. As I was skating I saw the moving truck pass me and I waved knowing that it was dad.
I got to actually look around at everything and just take it all in. It was absolutely amazing. Everyone just seemed so happy from what I could see from the people walking around. A song started to play that I wasn't really in the mood to listen to so I decided to change it. The bad part is that I decided to keep skating while I changed the song. So therefore I wasn't paying attention to where I was going until I hit a hard wall.
I felt myself falling backwards until I wasn't anymore. I also felt my headphones get snatched from my ears. I felt a warm hand wrap around my wrist and then I was yanked forward. I was then met face to face with a large chest.
I was kind of caught off guard by the sudden warmth that was starting to coarse through my body. I felt myself losing my balance for no reason but before I could even start falling I felt the grip on my wrist disappear and a pair of hands grab my waist to steady me. My hands landed on the chest that I was now only a few inches away from. The pair of hands were still placed firmly on my waist seeming like they didn't want to let go just yet.
I took a tiny step back but the grip didn't loosen. I decided to look up and meet the eyes of who those warm and comforting hands belonged to. I was met with the deepest blue eyes I have ever seen in my life. He was much taller than me and had the silkiest looking brown, almost black colored hair that made me want to run my fingers through it. He was absolutely beautiful. There was just something about his eyes that made them so captivating. We just stared into each other's eyes in silence before he decided to break the silence.
