Y/N's P.O.V.

"Y/N, what are you doing hiding in here? There's a party going on downstairs and we're missing you." Nat asked, looking at me as she came into my room.

"Just... not in the mood." I lied.

"I know you don't like the parties, but you were in there earlier." She frowned.
"Then Thor appeared and you seemed to disappear."

"I just have a headache, Nat. It's nothing." I shrugged and she sighed.

"I know you're lying, Y/N." She frowned.
"What is it? Is it Loki?"

"What? Loki is here?" I asked in alarm and she put her hand over mine. I immediately moved my hand into my lap and she apologised quietly.
I wasn't a huge fan of physical contact. I hated it. My powers were dangerous and I despised the thought of accidentally hurting the people that had somehow become like a family to me.

"Calm down, he's not doing any harm." Nat sighed.
"Thor told everyone earlier that, per his father's request, Loki has to redeem himself for New York by working with us. You wouldn't know that, of course, because you've been avoiding Thor."

"No I haven't." Even I heard how pathetic the lie sounded, making me frown.

"Come on. Tell me." Nat sighed.
"What is it about Thor that is making you avoid him?"

"I can't tell you." I muttered.
"You'it'll just get mad at me and-"

"Y/N, whatever it is, I won't get mad. I promise." She looked at me carefully.
"What is it? It can't be that bad."

"I... no. I'm not doing this now." I shook my head.

"You tell me what it is, or I drag your ass back to the party." She replied seriously.
"Y/N, you can trust me. Whatever it is, you can tell me, I won't tell anyone."

"Can we just go back to the party instead?" I asked and she sighed heavily, before nodding.
Going downstairs, we were immediately greeted with a tipsy Tony, who threw his arm over my shoulder. I cringed and Nat gave me an apologetic look.

"Hiya, Icicle. Where've you been hiding?" He asked, pulling me away from Nat and towards the bar.

"I went back to my room, but Nat made me come back." I mumbled, moving out of his grip and he pushed a glass into my hand. It looked and smelled like vodka and I accepted it with a small shrug.
Tony turned to speak to Steve and I moved over to the couches, hoping I could just sit through the stupid party and hopefully sneak back to my room at some point.

"You must be lady Y/N." Thor spoke suddenly, stepping in front of me. My breath got caught in my throat and I looked up at him, nodding my head hesitantly.
"It's nice to finally meet you, my lady. It's curious that we haven't met sooner."

"It's nice to meet you too, Thor." He smiled at me, before putting his hand on my shoulder, making me flinch. He immediately removed his hand, thinking he had hurt me in some way.
"Sorry, I just don't like being touched."

"Do not apologise, lady Y/N, I should have asked." He spoke.
"Come, I must introduce you to my brother." I reluctantly followed him to where I was already headed, finding Loki sat on one of the couches, book in hand.
"Loki, I'd like you to meet Lady Y/N of the Avengers."

"Please stop trying to introduce me to your friends. I don't care." Loki sighed and I moved over to the armchair and used my magic to summon the book from my bedside table. I was reading it just before Nat decided to bring me back down to the party.

"Loki, look!" Thor spoke excitedly.
"She has magic, just like you! You can be friends." I looked at the brothers, who were already looking at me. I felt awkward, so I immediately looked back down to my book. Someone called Thor's name and I tried to concentrate on my book, but it was incredibly difficult when I could feel Loki's eyes on me.
I looked up and he immediately turned his head, looking away.

"Can I help you?" I asked, knowing that any conversation I had with Loki had to be careful. He could tell if I was being untruthful, he was the God of Mischief and lies after all.

"You look familiar." He said after a few moments.
"Have we met before?"

"Y/N!" My head snapped cowards Wanda, who was coming over to me with Vision by her side.
"Hey, we were talking and you just disappeared and scared the Hell out of me."

"Sorry, Wanda. You know I don't like these parties, it just got too much and I had to go to my room." I sighed and she frowned.
"But Nat made me come back down, so if you want to continue the conversation-"

"Go back to your room and rest. We'll talk to Natasha and make sure you'll be left alone." Vision spoke softly and I let out a breath.

"Thank you." I looked at the pair and they instantly nodded. I stood up, before looking back to Loki, who looked lost in thought.
"It was lovely to meet you, Loki." He looked up at me, before nodding his head and I quickly made a beeline for the elevator.
