It has been two weeks and jaune has yet to return to the reliant instead is using the andromeda as a makeshift flagship giving orders from there but he was hurting inside and finally he came to a decision he was entering his fighter and launching out heading back to the reliant

He had called his parents previously who he had earned their blessing much to his gratitude so he could do what he was about to do once on board he ignored literally all he passed and hoped akira was still in his quarters upon arrival he opened the door and he found her there

"Can we talk" I asked she nodded you could tell she had been crying I stepped into the room sat on the bed placing a hand on her leg which she allowed

"I thought about our conversation we had and I was a bit too harsh would you take me back" I asked with hope the response was instant she jumped into my arms saying yes over and over again

"Thank you" I said holding her in my embrace I rose to feet

"I need to report to the bridge could you get cleaned up and then join me" I asked she nodded i got up and headed for the bridge as she quietly pulled on her jumpsuit inwardly she was jumping for joy as a small smile was crept on her face when she arrived at the bridge jaune had gotten back into his comfort zone or so she thought but the moment she entered the bridge i turned to saito

"Patch me through to the fleet" I told him he nodded doing so I rose to my feet

"I was asked to make a choice between family and duty and my choice should have been decided immediately and yet I ran and hid like a coward to afraid to let anyone down" I said this made many people confused as the entire bridge staff turned to me

"I stayed gone because I was afraid of the backlash my leaving would achieve and when I eventually returned my resolve was hardened by forgiveness" I said

"Oh no" saki said and the rest of the captain's didn't like where this speech was going either

"So that question I bring to my self would I choose my family or my duty and I choose family with that said as of this moment I am giving command of the reliant to saki todo who has already proven her skill with command and I relinquish command of the fleet to osamu yamanami in hopes that we don't fall apart thank you all for accepting me and I am sorry we must part under such circumstances but I thank you yet again this is captain arc signing off" I said I then jumped off the captain's station and walked off the bridge it was dead silence..............that is until he left then it became complete chaos saki slumped back in her station not even moving to the captain's since she felt she didn't deserve such a post as the entire fleet was asking he reconsider seeing this seeing how jaunes crew became lifeless she realized something and the real reason why he didn't want to quit it was because the crew would collapse if he ever does

She ran after him only to find him packing his stuff in the captain's quarters

"Are you sure you aren't regretting this" akira asked she could tell he was

"This is what you want so I have no regrets" i lied through my teeth but i wanted her to be happy and would do anything for her as I turned to continue packing

"Jaune" she said as she hugged me from behind

"Your a really bad liar I know why you didn't want to step down its not your duty to the post like I thought its your duty to the people and now after seeing fully want exactly happens when you do step down they need you" akira said I turned to her

"Please don't make me choose akira I can't keep going back I will fall apart" I said then the ship started violently shaking

"Go and Be hero you always wanted to be this time I will actually support you" she said I looked at her for just a moment gave her a quick peck on the lips before running to the bridge
