"Detention? Seriously?"
Remus was sitting at the breakfast table with his 3 other friends, wondering how James and Sirius managed to get themselves in detention. Though he shouldn't be surprised, he thought being in a different time period would knock some self-control into those two. Clearly not.
"Sorry Tom," Sirius said as Hermione and Lily came over. "We couldn't help ourselves."
"Help yourselves to what?" Hermione asked, sitting down next to Neville, who was eating.
"They have been put in detention," Remus sighed, nodding towards the his two friends while Peter stuffed his mouth with scrambled eggs.
"What for?" Hermione asked.
"For pranking Malfoy," Sirius said. "We put some Dungbombs in his bag when he left it to go to the bathroom. He wasn't pleased."
"Of course he wasn't!" Remus sneered. "How idiotic do you have to be to drop Dungbombs in people's bags? Especially someone valued so much by the High Inquisitor."
"He needed to be taught a lesson," Sirius said. "Kept going on about how James got lucky when he caught the Snitch. Saying he had no talent at all, just like Harry."
Hermione sighed, "I know he is a pain in the ass, but you have to accept that now is not the time to be pranking people. The Minister is spying on us. We have to be careful. Plus, we have 2 and a bit more years to prank Malfoy."
"But we don-OUCH!"
Sirius was about to blow their cover, and possibly their identities, but thankfully, Remus kicked him in the shin. Sirius glared at him and he ignored him.
"So does that mean you guys miss out on Hogsmeade?" Lily asked them.
Sirius face-palmed, "Oh I completely forgot about Hogsmeade this afternoon! We have our detentions at 3!"
James had not said anything the whole time. Remus felt he was keeping awfully quiet ever since his encounter with Lily a few days ago. Or maybe he was disgruntled at not knowing what happened to Harry. He and Ron and his family had not returned yet. Word was that Arthur did in fact get injured, but no one knew where or what he was doing when he did get attacked.
"You okay Daniel?" Hermione asked.
James merely nodded, not saying anything. Lily seemed to be giving James very awkward looks and it made Remus wonder how much each of them actually knew. If it was possible, he would want to talk to her at Hogsmeade. At least there, they wouldn't have to worry about James or Sirius or Harry.
Lupin POV
"I'll see if I can find anything to bring back for you," I told the others when it was time to go.
Sirius and James waved goodbye rather dramatically, as though they wouldn't be seeing each other ever again. I rolled my eyes. Sometimes I couldn't believe those two. At least now I didn't have to worry about them getting into trouble at Hogsmeade. And I can at least get some answers from Lily on what she knows. If she knew the truth already...
"Where do you want to go to first?" Peter asked me.
I felt bad for Peter. He has been sort of left out of everything seeing as none of this really involved him and all he wanted to do was make it out alive. We all did but Dumbledore was confident. And I had complete trust in Dumbledore. So I believed that we could make it out of it alive without causing too much harm.
"We can go into Zonko's," I said. "You can look for what you want there. I am not really up to doing anything today."
"Full moon coming soon?" Peter asked, although it was more of a whisper since there were a lot of people around.
