Marauders in Time

"James Potter, you are crazy!" 

"Its just an idea!"

The rest of the group laughed. James grinned broadly at his friend, Remus, who rolled his eyes. 

"How about Ravenclaw tower?" Sirius suggested. "We haven't been there."

"Its too dangerous," Remus said for the umpteenth time that evening. "If we cause a commotion, its gonna be a tough route back to the Shrieking Shack."

"Well then were do you suggest we go?" James asked, pushing the map closer to Remus.

"Why can't we just continue roaming the hallways of the castle. That is safer than going up a bloody tower!"

"You are no fun Moony," James slumped back in his chair, defeated.

The 4 friends, James, Sirius, Remus and Peter, were planning their next adventure for when the full moon arrives in a few nights. James, being the most adventurous of the group, had suggested exploring more of the castle, including teacher's offices. Whereas Sirius was more than happy to disturb the Slytherins in the dungeons until Remus shut down the idea.

"What do you think Peter?" James asked, turning to the lumpy boy in the corner of their group.

"I think we should continue exploring the castle's hallways, like Remus said," he shrugged.

Sirius groaned, "Why do you two got to be so boring! Lets just go down and annoy the Slytherins again!"

"We already did that and we nearly got caught!" Remus warned fiercely. 

"Yeah but we were fine."

"Easy for you to say! You're not the one turning into a werewolf every month!"

"Guys!" James said quickly. "Lets not start fighting now alright? We can compromise. We can go down to the dungeons but we don't have to bother the Slytherins. Sound good?"

Remus looked like interjecting but stopped himself, nodding in agreement. That seemed like the best option for everyone.

"Unless..." James suggested. "We can still slip some Dungbombs in Slughorn's office-"

"James no!" Remus moaned in annoyance as the rest laughed. "I already said no!"

"Alright! Alright! Was just a suggestion you know?"

"Anyway, it won't be a good idea for you mate," Sirius pointed out.

"Why?"

"Because Slughorn is Lily's favourite? Duh."

"Oh well it'll be fine. They will never know its us."

Remus looked at his friend in disbelief, "Everyone knows that when a prank goes down, it has something to do with James Potter and Sirius Black!"

"Don't bring my name into this!" Sirius complained.

"It is true," Peter said slowly, making Sirius mutter a curse that made tiny bats start chasing him around the common room. It was lucky that there was barely anyone in there so they couldn't hear what the 4 friends were talking about and they wouldn't have to put up with Peter's squeals.

Sighing, Remus muttered the counter-curse and the bats disappeared. 

"You are too soft and sympathetic Moony," Sirius smirked. "Liven up a little."

"I am here to balance out the chaos you two make," he nodded to James as well.

"Happy to help," James replied, twirling his wand in his fingers. When the common room door opened and a girl entered, however, he sat up straight and ruffled his hair.
