I'm sorry

I once knew a girl,
Who would apologize as if she thought that the sound of her heartbeat is what caused an earthquake.

She was normal. She would crossover her t's and dot her i's.
Like a good little girl,
With her hair curled, she'd always whisper sorry for the admiring looks.

I once knew a girl,
Who's apologies would make her eyes go dark.
She was so scared of leaving an unnecessary mark.

This girl was so scared of messing up,
That she started to draw her imperfections on her skin,
She became an artist every night so that the darkness wouldn't win.

She'd try to play the violin,
With notes that screech in red.
She tried to draw again
So one step closer to being dead

And what I heard her saying
When she took her last breaths that day.
Is That "I'm sorry,
that I couldn't find.
another way to stay."

Okay aha. So this poem was based on me a bit because I say sorry a lot and it was also inspired by the movie (if I stay).
