Elsa's POV

I was running. As I ran, I counted the doors I passed. One... two... three... four... five! I threw open the door. The room was empty. I was too late.

I ran back out of the room and began running as fast as I could down the corridor. I had only one destination in mind. The hill just outside the kingdom. The hill where executions took place in the old days.

"Always too late." A voice chuckled. I ignored it and kept running. I had to stop the execution. But something was wrong. Every time I turned down a new hall, it was a dead end.

"You're too late Elsa." The voice said. In a last desperate effort, I ran to the window and threw it open. I climbed onto the empty roof. Oh great. I was on the third floor. But I had to get to the hill. I could see the people gathering from here. I took a few steps back, then launched myself forward.

I woke up in a cold sweat. My breathing was ragged and fast, and I glanced around quickly. I hadn't just jumped from the roof. I was safe in my bed. I was safe.

I looked out the window. People weren't gathered on the execution hill. Everything was the way it should be.

What a weird dream. I hadn't had bad dreams since... since before my coronation.

I climbed out of bed and got dressed, then put my hair in a braid. Then I went to check up on Jack. With any luck, he would be getting better.

When I entered the room, Jack was out of bed and looking out the window. He had all of his old clothes back on, and he looked sort of sad.

"Good morning Jack." I said. He jumped and turned around with a grin on his face.

"Hello your majesty." He said with a bow. I rolled my eyes.

"Great. Who told you?" I complained.

"One of the healers mentioned how it was odd that the snowstorm had appeared out of nowhere and how you, the queen, probably had something to do with it." Jack explained. I sighed.

"I probably did. I have winter powers you see. But I don't remember anything from the past week." I admitted.

"Can't the healers heal you?" Jack asked. I shook my head.

"This is beyond their ability." I explained.

"Isn't there anyone else who might be able to help?" I thought for a moment.

"Well, there are the trolls..." I said thoughtfully. Jack looked at me oddly.

"Trolls?" He asked. I nodded.

"They've healed Anna a couple of times. They're very gifted." I explained.

"They sound perfect! You should go ask them for help with your memory." Jack said.

"What about you?"

"I promise I won't get into trouble while you're gone. I'll even do everything the healers say. They said that I need to stay in bed, but I didn't want to. But I will if you leave." Jack said. I smiled.

"Ok, I'll go see the trolls. But stay out of trouble. Do everything the healers and other people working around the castle tell you." I told him. He crossed his heart, then walked over to the bed and laid down on it. I turned and left the room. I grabbed my traveling cloak and went outside, then climbed on my horse. Pitch appeared out of nowhere.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"I'm going to see the trolls to find out if they can help with my memory." I explained. Something flashed in Pitch's eyes, then it was gone.

"How long are you going to be gone?" He asked. I shrugged.

"Maybe an hour or two. Possibly more. I don't know how long it will take to reclaim my memory." I said.

"I'll make sure the castle is watched after while you're gone." He pledged.

"I think Anna can take care of the castle." I reminded him.

"She left for the day to hang out with Kristoff." Pitch said. I rolled my eyes.

"Fine. We have someone being watched by the healers, so make sure he doesn't get into trouble." I said. Pitch saluted.

"Sure thing." He said. I turned my horse and galloped away, towards the valley of rolling stones.

Bunny's POV

I paced in front of the giant globe at the North Pole. Where was Jack? It had been a week by now. This was why the yeti usually went and kidnapped the person in a sack!

"Bunny, I know you miss him. But don't worry. He'll come back." Tooth said.

"I don't miss him!" I protested loudly. But in truth, I did. Without him, everything just felt... wrong. Tooth smiled.

"It's just... we haven't seen Pitch either. What if Jack got hurt?" I worried. Tooth lit a hand on my shoulder. She was about to speak, but at that moment the crystal which revealed new guardians rose out of the floor and began to glow. A new guardian? Did that mean Jack was... dead?

The crystal took the shape of a girl just like the one before, except this one had two braids. Hold on a second. Now that I thought about it, the two girls looked like sisters. Were both of them sisters who were supposed to be guardians?

"Oh no. Someone needs to tell Jack that both of the sisters are guardians!" I exclaimed.

"I have a feeling Jack may have already figured that out." North said from a nearby doorway. I turned around.

"I have to go find Jack." I said. North tossed me a snow globe.

"Be my guest." He said.

"Arandell." I said, tossing the snow globe. Then I stepped into the vortex of color.
