Elsa's POV

Me and Pitch walked into the castle together. This was all so confusing! Jack Frost was a killer? He wanted to kill me and Anna?

"So tell me more. What did I miss?" I asked.

"Well, I don't know a whole ton. The same day you had your last memory, you were walking along the docks when you were pushed into the water by Jack. I jumped forward and saved you, then fended Jack off. He vanished for a little while. Then he hurt Anna badly, almost killing her. We healed her. And then he kidnapped her and tried to kill her, but I jumped in the way and was injured instead. I'm better now. I sent you back to the castle with Anna, holding Jack off. Then he vanished, and I ran to the castle as fast as I could. And here we are." Pitch explained. I thought about what he had said. It felt right. Mostly. It still felt like I was missing bits and pieces.

"Well, could you go check up on Anna for me? I want to find out what Jack's side of the story is." I said. Something flashed in Pitch's eyes, then it was gone.

"Be my guest. But be careful." He said. He walked away, and I walked back to the infirmary.

Jack had a bandage wrapped around his shoulder, but otherwise he looked mostly ok. The bandage was slowly turning black. I seriously hoped that wasn't blood.

"Ouch. That looks painful." I said. Jack looked at it.

"It is. But I have no idea how I got it. I never had it before." He told me.

"So Jack. What do you remember before today? Of the last week or so maybe."

"I was ice skating with my sister. The ice was cracking, and I pulled her to shore. But then the ice broke, and I fell into the water. That's it."

"Nothing else?"

"Nope."

"Nothing about... I don't know, killing someone? Planning to kill someone? Any evil plots?"

"Just one." My heart stopped.

"What is it?" I asked slowly.

"The plan to hide in a tree and jump down from the top branches and scare Sophia." Jack said with a grin.

"Oh."

"I was going to pretend I fell, and that I broke a bone or something."

"Maybe it's a good thing you almost drowned then. You could have hurt yourself!" Jack laughed.

"Now you sound like my mom." He said.

"Well, you should be more careful."

"Careful people never do anything fun."

"What's with you and fun?"

"The way I see it, there are two options in life. You can go around all sad and mopey, or you can be happy and have fun."

"So you've never done anything bad?"

"I wouldn't necessarily say that. I tease my sister. But I wouldn't do anything evil if that's what you mean."

"Ok. One last thing."

"Anything."

"Do you have any brothers?" Jack thought for a moment. Then he shook his head.

"Not a single one? Or two? Who look just like you, except with white and black hair?" I asked.

"I think I would remember if I had two nearly identical brothers." Jack said with a grin.

"What if I told you the name of one? Could you tell me if you recognized it?" I asked.

"Probably." He said.

"Pitch Black." I said. Suddenly Jack grimaced and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Are you ok?" I asked, stepping forward.

"Yeah, I'm fine. My shoulder just started hurting like crazy. I'm sorry, I don't recognize that name." He said apologetically, rubbing his shoulder.

"That's alright. I didn't really expect you to." I admitted. I turned and left the room, filled with more questions than answers.
