Elsa's POV
"Oof!" The thing that landed on me said loudly. I pushed them off of me and stood up. It was a giant blue and white rabbit with two boomerangs strapped to it's back. I had no idea what to say.
"Uh..." I said, not really sure what to do or say. The rabbit stood up and brushed itself off, then looked at me.
"Ah, perfect! Just the girl I was looking for. Have you by chance seen a boy with white hair, odd clothes, a staff, and a really annoying personality? Oh, and ice powers?" The rabbit asked.
"Yes, but it's a long story. Are you a friend of his?" I asked, itching to run inside and find Jack.
"In a way. I'm Bunnymund, but you can call me Bunny. I'n a guardian. So is our little friend Jack. He was supposed to retrieve you and bring you back to headquarters, but it's been about ten days since any of us have heard from him." Bunny said.
"There's a good reason for that. But there's no time to talk! If you really are a guardian, come with me! We need to find Jack." I said quickly, pushing open the door and running inside. Bunny followed me.
"What has he been doing all this time? Goofing off?" Bunny asked.
"Not at all. Pitch showed up and almost killed Anna, then Jack saved us, then Anna was kidnapped, then I jumped in the way and Jack got hurt, then he sent Anna back to the castle and I was healed by the trolls but there wasn't time to heal Jack, and then he locked me inside the castle with Anna, then he faced off with Pitch and used a special crystal which turned himself mortal again, erasing all of his memories of being a guardian and every memory any mortals have of him in guardian form. Then Pitch showed up looking just like Jack except with black hair, and I left to find out the truth, which I did, and now Jack may be in trouble." I explained as I walked quickly down the halls.
"Wow. So he's a mortal again?" Bunny asked. I nodded. I saw one of the doctors up ahead and called out to her. She waited as me and Bunny caught up to her.
"What happened?" I asked quickly.
"Begging your highnesses pardon, but weren't you dead?" The doctor asked.
"Of course not! Who told you I was dead?" I asked.
"It was right after princess Anna went missing. That strange young man, Pitch Black, told us all you had been killed by the boy Jack Frost. We doctors protested, but you were never found. There was a trial, and just this morning Jack was sentenced to death on the execution hill." The doctor said. Bunny stomped his foot.
"Thank you." I said, turning away from her and running as quickly as I could towards the infirmary. Suddenly Bunny grabbed my arm and stopped me. In front of us stood a tall pale figure. Pitch Black in his immortal form.
"So you finally regained your memories." Pitch said. Bunny pulled out his boomerangs.
"Where's Jack?" I asked angrily.
"I would presume he's on his way to his death." Pitch said, examining a fingernail on his hand.
"If you've harmed Jack in any way..." Bunny growled threateningly. Pitch laughed.
"Too late for that. Jack is already dying anyway. In his mortal form, he can't fight the darkness that wounded him. Whether he dies on execution hill or not, he will be dead by sunset." Pitch laughed. I glared at him.
"Step aside." I growled. Pitch laughed and vanished, and I led the way to the infirmary. When I threw open the door, the room was empty. We were too late.
"Where's execution hill?" Bunny asked urgently.
"Outside of town." I said quickly. Bunny led the way into the hall and we began running towards the doors, but a huge wall of black blocked our path. Bunny turned and began running down another hall, but no matter where we turned a wall of black appeared. Outside, the sun continued to slowly creep closer to the ground. Finally, Bunny banged his fists against the wall.
"It's no use. Pitch has blocked off all exits." He growled. I looked out the window. Then suddenly I had an idea.
"Help me open this." I said, prying open the window. Bunny helped me, and then the two of us climbed onto the roof. I could see a crowd gathered on execution hill. We didn't have much time.
Unfortunately, somehow we weren't on the first floor anymore. We were on the second, possibly third floor. It was a long way down to the ground below. I growled in frustration.
"How are we supposed to get down there?" I moaned.
"Do you trust me?" Bunny asked.
"I just met you." I pointed out.
"Let me rephrase that. Trust me or Jack is going to die." He said, holding out a hand. I took it. He jumped off the roof, and at the last second he turned so that I land on top of him. I rolled off of him, and he started to dissolve into golden light.
"Save... Jack. I'll be fine. I'm... teleporting to the guardians' base." He said slowly. I nodded once and then stood up and began running.
