Mia POV
"No. Out of the question. You are not going to be there for his first transformation." Dad shut down the idea immediately.
"One bite. One bite is all it takes to kill you, Mia." Dad snapped and I knew the real reason he was freaking out over it was because of Rose. The English vampire that thought she could change my dad but I was also grateful for her, she took a bite for my dad.
She saved his life and made sure to mark Jules on my list.
"Dad. I'm sorry but I am not letting him go through this alone okay?"
"You're lucky I can't lock you in the house with Elena." Dad warned and I rolled my eyes. He knew if I was stuck in a house with her all day long, I couldn't promise the precious doppelgänger wouldn't be hurt.
"Can I at least visit my uncle without you following me?" I begged and he threw on his jacket.
"It's fine. I have a certain wolf to threaten anyways."
"Make it bloody." I shouted out to him before grabbing a blood bag for my uncle, along with a blanket and new set of clothes.
I had to make the trip quick, I planned to sneak out to meet Tyler at the cellar to help him chain himself for his first full moon. I was nervous and scared for him, but I had to be strong for him too. He needed me.
I held the bag to me as I set off towards the tomb, hating all the memories that came with it as I walked down the stairs to the entrance.
"Uncle Stefan?" I shouted out, putting the bag on the floor as I looked into it. I grinned when I saw a miserable looking Katherine limp towards the entrance with an annoyed Stefan following.
"Oh honey you look awful." I smirked at her harsh glare. "I called for my uncle not the slut who started this mess."
"You should be thanking me, but unfortunately I didn't turn you. Pearl did, so no reason to hate me there."
"I have plenty." I growled as I could feel my eyes rumbling. "Now leave so I can speak with my uncle."
She left and I frowned at how my uncle was stuck in the tomb for the last two days.
"Are you okay?" I went to toss the blood bag but he shook his head. I handed him the rest of the bag and played with the blood bag nervously. "We're trying to find a way out for you."
"Just make sure Elena's safe okay?" I mentally rolled my eyes and he noticed the look. "I know you don't care much for her, but as your uncle, I'm begging you to help keep her safe just while I'm in here."
"Okay." I nodded and he thanked me. "I love you."
"I love you, Mia."
I left the tomb, hating that he wasn't by my side and probably suffering the sluts attempts to seduce him. I had to worry about Elijah being in town, but he wasn't my focus right now. Tyler was.
I made it to the cellar and waited for him as I grabbed the wolfsbane I stole from Ric. I grabbed the water bottles we set in here the night before and crushed a bit into each bottle.
"Hey." I turned and smiled at Tyler, who was walking down into the cellar with a nervous smile. "You're gonna do fine."
"With you here." He kissed me and I held up a bottle. "That shit is basically vervain to me right?" I nodded and he grimaced at it. "I should start locking myself up now. Here's the bag of extra clothes."
He stripped down to his shorts and I helped tug on the old chains to make sure they wouldn't break easy. I used all my strength and was satisfied with how durable they were.
"Wait." He stopped me before I could close the door. "Promise me if I manage to break free you'll run. Seeing what it did to Rose, I can't let that happen to you."
"I promise." I held onto his arms as I listened to his heartbeat. "I'm here every step okay? You're not alone, Ty." I went to check on the moon and saw that it was starting to rise, sure enough, I heard a sharp snap and cry of pain.
I flashed down to his side, watching as he held his leg in pain. I kissed his head and held onto him as the breaking of his bones started. Each cry of pain broke my heart and I hated his curse more than anything.
"Mia you need to go." He cried out and I nodded, but I screamed when he tried rushing to bite me. "Mia RUN."
I flew upstairs after locking the door and stood against it as the pain got worse for him as the nighttime came. Then I heard nothing.
"Tyler?" No response and I had to fight myself from going in there. Suddenly he hit the door hard and I immediately ran from the door out of instinct. I stood at a safe distance and prayed with everything I wouldn't run into Jules.
It was torture, waiting the hours alone but soon I heard his sobs and ran back to the cellar. I felt like crying when I saw him huddled on the floor in pain and I knelt next to him.
"You did it." I kissed his bare shoulder, putting my jacket to cover him slightly. He held onto my hand and I let him take his time to process what happened.
"Can you stay with me tonight? Please?" He asked as he sat up, holding the jacket against him. I nodded and he changed into the spare clothes as I waited outside for him. "Shall we?"
I grinned as he scooped me up into his arms and was surprised when he could run almost as fast as me in his human form. We got to his house and I didn't hear his mom.
I laid on his bed as he showered and got comfortable. I texted my dad, who had blown up my phone while I was with Tyler, and promised I'd explain tomorrow.
I smiled at how warm it was under the blankets while the house was pretty cold. Thankfully Tyler let me borrow a shirt to sleep in that fit me like a nightgown.
I yawned as I felt sleepy and smiled when I suddenly felt him laying behind me. "Someone's getting comfortable with their new speed."
"And strength." He pulled me back against him and I turned to cuddle into his chest. "You're cold."
"Can't you wolf out and warm me up?" I teased him and giggled when he tickled my sides. "Kidding! Gosh." He held me to him and I smiled at the feeling. "I'm happy you're okay."
"Wouldn't have been able to get through this alone." He kissed my head, "Thank you, Mia."
