A/N: So...we've come to the end of Breaking Her Cold Walls! I hope you enjoy this chapter. I will post the epilogue tomorrow. Hugs and love xoxo
Sandra's eyes widened as she stared at him astonished. "What?", she asked in a bare whisper. Nathan awkwardly rubbed his neck as he repeated his question. "I asked if you would go out on a date with me.", he said.
Sandra was unsure what to reply. Did she want to go take a chance with him and see how it goes, yes. But there was still a part of her warning her that nothing in life lasts. She sighed as she stared at the ground, uttely confused what to reply.
Nathan mistook her silence for rejection as he calmly accepted it. "I mean, if you're not interested, it's fine too. But I still do owe you a dinner for your birthday. You are still coming with me no matter what.", he said with a grin. He realized that no matter what, he would fight hard to win her over. "I guess, yeah, sure why not.", Sandra replied with a small smile of her own.
"Great! But, are you agreeing for the dinner or...the date?", he asked. "I guess both, yeah?", Sandra winked at him as she walked over to refill her drink. Nathan stood there stunned as he took in her answer. "Wait!", he said as he caught her wrist. "You mean two dates?", he asked her interestedly, very interestedly actually.
"Well, yes. I agree on one date. But you still owe me a dinner for ruining my birthday, mister.", Sandra said sternly but with amusement. "Ouch. I already apologized to you for that. I swear I didn't mean to "ruin" your birthday, honey.", he said with a pout.
"Oh, I'm your honey now, Mr.Obnoxious?", Sandra said with a fake glare. "Yes, why not, Honey? Or would you prefer babe, baby?", he added. Sandra rolled her eyes and made fake vomitting sounds. "That sounds worst.", she murmured. "Whatever, honey.", Nathan teased and she punched his chest lightly.
"Aww!", a sound broke them out of their little bubble as they turned around to see Marianne cooing at them. "Look at you two little love birds! So cute!", she giggled and clapped. "There's no love birds in here, old woman.", Sandra said annoyed. "Lies! All lies!", she sang. "It's obvious that both of you are so in love with one another. When will I be hearing wedding bells ring, hmm?", she teased them further.
"We are not together and we are not in love!", Sandra defended as she narrowed her eyes, a bright fierce blush spread across her face, due to embarrassment. Nathan looked at her in amusement. "That hurts, a lot. Honey!", he teased her again and Marianne "Awwed" again. "See? this young man is a keeper, young woman. Don't deny your love for him. I can see the glow in your face that he brings. You've done well, Nathan. You are indeed the fire for her ice.", she said a little emotional as she walked away to her husband.
It brought her joy to see Sandra so happy. She may deny it for all she wants, but its evidently clear in her eyes and smile that she is happy and that made Marianne happy.
"You're impossible.", Sandra muttered angrily as she gave him the stinking eye. "Nah, honey.", Nathan said with a grin. Sandra scowled as she walked away from him and left the house. With a sigh, Nathan jogged after her and once again spun her around in the middle of the street.
Rain poured down and both of them were drenched head to toe. The moonlight illuminated the beauty of the woman in front of him and Nathan looked at her in awe. "Where did you think you were going, hmm?", he murmured as he pulled her into a hug.
"What are you doing?", she asked as he placed her hands on his shoulders and his arms snaked to her waist and pulled her close. "Dancing.", he said as he began to move both of them in a slow dance. Sandra quietly followed his moves as both of them danced in the rain, the rain was still pouring hard on both of them, but they paid no attention as they were both lost in one another's eyes.
"You're beautiful, have I ever told you that before?", Nathan whispered in her ears and Sandra shuddered. "Yes, you did earlier, Mr.Obnoxious.", she said and rolled her eyes. Nathan chuckled as spun her around. "Can you hear that?", he asked. Sandra raised an eyebrow as she stared at him. "Hear what", she asked, confused. "My heart. It quickens whenever you're around.", he said and Sandra blushed.
"I wonder why is that.", she teased as she laid her head on his chest. "I know we've known one another for like, almost two months now and it might be a little early. But I really like you. It's not love, yet. But it's slowly turning into.", he whispered as he gazed at his eyes intensely. Without waiting for a reply, he crashed his lips into hers and she kissed him back, and she felt it too, the way her heart beat fast.
Sandra wasn't sure if fairytales existed, or if love existed. But she learned that it was okay to move on. She learned that it was okay to break down your walls. That it was okay to be happy once again and to fall in love again and again, as long as it was the right man. This time, it was, the right one man.
The End.
