Third person's POV

The rest of the day went by uneventfully. Sandra found out that majority of her cohort was well aware of the little relationship and secret between Mariah and Andrew.

Her blood fueled with rage when she thought about both the traitors. It was the last lesson of the day, Mr. Morgan's Geography class and she could call it a day soon.

This was the most exhaustingly tormenting birthday that she has ever experienced and she prayed to God that this will never reoccur again. "Never will I ever fall in love again. Enough is enough.", she spoke bitterly to herself. She was also getting infuriated with all the pitiful glances that her classmates were throwing at her.

"I feel so bad for Sandra. Like, she is the nicest person ever. Who would have thought that Andrew would betray her like that? What a jerk.", a tall blonde girl was whispering to her friends.

Sandra wanted more than nothing to excavate the ground and for it to devour her up wholely. It seems like her Senior year was ruined now as well. Now, she was known as the girl Andrew betrayed, the girl who's so called best friend backstabbed.

She was getting emotional again. All she desperately wanted to do was to cry her hearts out. Why did heartbreak have to hurt so much? Her heart further torn to pieces when she thought back to all the promises that Andrew, her first love, had promised her.

"I promise that I will always love, protect and honor you. I have honestly never met a girl more beautiful and kinder than you. You are perfect, you know that? Unlike other girls in our school, you value your virtue and you want to wait till marriage. That, itself, is so beautiful and thoughtful. Every part of yours is mine and every part of mine is yours", Andrew had promised her just six months ago.

She felt like the luckiest girl in the world and she remembered thanking every stars and Gods up there for bestowing such an understanding and loving man like Andrew. Great things never last, anyways.

Never has it ever occured in her wildest dreams that the man she loved could betray her like this and break all her dreams. She had spent so many nights envisioning about the possible future that the two of them could have.

All she has ever wanted was to marry him, build a family with him and grow old with him.  They were together for three years and she has known him since they were young children. He used to be her best friend before they confessed their love for one another.

Look at where it has landed them now. Every ounce of her dream has been shattered and she vowed that she will never love or trust anyone ever again. Not worth the pain, certainly. Another traitor tear rolled down her cheeks ,but she did not make an attempt to wipe it away. She was very tired. "Look, she's crying!", the guy sitting beside her quietly whispered to his friend.

"Damn, I wish I can beat up Andrew to a pulp man. Look at her, she looks so fragile.", another voice whispered. Myriads of strange voices kept whispering about her predicament and she has had enough.

She  abruptly stood up from her chair, retrieved her back and ran away from her class. She could hear her concerned classmates and teacher calling after her, but she refused to look back. As far and as fast as her legs could take her, she ran.

She ran past the woods, she ran past the arrays of houses, she ran past the shops, she ran and ran until she felt dizzy. She collapsed on the ground as her breathing increased. Beads of sweat rolled down her cheeks, intermingled with tears as she sobbed for all that she has lost. Her phone kept ringing, but she paid no attention to it.

Memories kept replaying in her head. Their first kiss, the time he snuck into her room through the window in the middle of the night just to apologize, after their first fight. The time he wrote three hundred and sixty five little notes so that she could read them each day and feel his love for her. They were still very fresh, it was just like yesterday.
