Third person's POV (end of this chapter happens in 2008)

"H-how did he die?", she asked quietly as her voice quivered. "He hanged himself. Because of you.", her sister said loudly, her voice held an accusing tone.

"B-because of me?", Sandra repeated her words as she clutched her heart and cried. "Yes, because of you. He cheated on you, so what? He apologized and you should have just forgiven him. BECAUSE OF YOU HE'S DEAD. HE WAS AN ONLY CHILD, REMEMBER? MY FRIEND IS GONE BECAUSE OF YOU.", her sister shouted. "ENOUGH, Kendra.", her father told her sister of as he went over and hugged his daughter.

"Shh, Sandra, it was not your fault, okay? Don't blame yourself for this.", he said and tried to comfort her. The brunette pushed her father back as she ran as fast as lightning to her room and shut the door.

That night, she silently cried herself to sleep. All that was running through her mind was immense guilt. She assumed it was all her fault and she hated herself. The man she loved died because of her and she told herself that she will never forgive herself.

A few days passed by in a shimmer and the day for Andrew's funeral arrived. It's also been a few days since Sandra went to school or interacted with anyone else. Her room became her world as she slowly immersed herself in isolation and hatred.

The guilt and his last final words burderned her mind. With a heavy heart, she braced herself for the tumultuous day as she got up from her bed. Her usually sleek and shiny brown hair was now entangled and lost its glow.

Her usually radiant brown eyes were now liveless and dull. Her sun kissed olive skin was now a deathly pale. She stared at herself in the mirror as she took in her appearance. "I look like death.", she told herself emotionlessly.

In the few days, her usual cheery and kind self vanished and died along with Andrew. Unconsciously, he took with him all of her heart and soul. She will never be the same again as her heart is damaged beyond repair.

With a thin fake smile, she showered and scrubbed her skin roughly, in an attempt to wipe away dirt...as she felt dirty in the inside. Dirty, because she felt that she had the blood of someone in her hands.

After that, she got dressed in a long black dress and black cardigan, coupled with black flats and she was ready to go for his funeral. She quietly left her room and went down the stairs to meet her visibly upset parents.

Her parents took in their daughter's dull appearance and the dark eyebags and sighed with despair. Her mother, especially, felt utter remorse at the way she treated her daughter and the words she said.

She wanted to apologize, but on the other hand, Andrew was the son of her best friend and she can't ever forget her best friend's sob as she told her the dreadful news that cold rainy night. Andrew was like the son she never had and although he had originally wronged her daughter, she can't help but feel empty in the inside for the unnatural death of such a young man. She knew though, that her sweet daughter wasn't to blame.

It was not her fault. She sighed sadly at the way fate has played the lives of so many young souls like a game. It was unfair, why did it have to be this way?

All of them quietly left for the ceremony in uncomfortable silence. Once they reached the place, Sandra walked far behind her parents and sister. She felt way too guilty and she was too embarrassed to face Andrew's parents and friends...and Mariah, too.
