When reliving one of the gruesome videos that his boss made him watch, Kian felt his chest closing up as he desperately gasped for air. All that was on the slim, tall male's mind were the vivid images that were now imprinted on his mind.

His nephew was almost like a son to him. When he was born, he was there with his family and was one of the first to hold onto the small baby boy.

"Nope. No, fuck that. Fuck that stupid job, and that sick man, I can't keep watching those videos. I could find a job anywhere else, even if it's a thirty or forty minute drive, I'll do it." With little to no intentions of ever returning to that toxic job of his that was staining his mind and darkening his heart, Kian shook the thoughts off of his head and pulled himself together to greet everyone downstairs, starting from his friends, Sam and Colby which had arrived there first and awaited him with a loud clap.

Everyone started to cheer for the man, watching as he smiled brightly with his starry eyes full of glee. "Thanks, everyone! Thank you very much for taking the time to visit me and congratulate me. This job..." His heart began to flutter. In that moment, many emotions were going through Kian's mind, but he was so engulfed in that temporary reunion, that he completely put his thoughts aside and ignored everything that was going through his mind.

"This job, is the best one I could have ever chosen. I look forward to saving lives... Just try not to get injured too many times, alright, people? I can't have my lunch and resuscitate lives at the same time." His friends all gathered around and shared a soft laughter with Kian as Jc started to vlog, focusing his camera on Kian the whole time.

The older man wrapped his arm around Kian, fluffing his hair from side to side as the younger hunched over, giggling. "One," the curly haired male began to countdown. "Two... Three...." And the boys screamed directly into the camera, acting as goofy as they usually are.

But especially Jc, since he wanted to try his best to make his best friend feel happy. "YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT'S UUUUUUP, PATIENT JC HERE WITH EMT KIAN, EYYYY!" Kian grew more energetic and pushed Jc onto the floor, pretending to have two defibrillators on either side of his hands and pressed two tv controls against Jc's chest.

"3... 2... I stole your car keys last night- 1!" Jc grew offended and stood up immediately. "IT WAS YOU? I SPENT ALL MORNING SEARCHING FOR THOSE, DUMBASS, DR. LAWLEY." The younger felt his stomach bouncing up and down as he held onto it, laughing harder.

Jc stood up, holding onto his camera as Sam approached Kian. He grew distracted for a moment with a slight error that occurred to his lens, so the man had to walk away, leaving Kian and Sam alone to speak.

Kian stood beside the smaller, blonde boy and spoke to him with a serious tone, as they discussed the hardships that he had been through when studying to get to where he is now.

"It's been a long way, hasn't it? Look at how far you got, Kian. You made it!" Sam's words of encouragement were so sincere and empowering, yet the other man had his mind completely spaced out. He simply nodded with a wide smile.

But in reality, Kian was completely lost in another world. There were many things stuck on his head, and one of them, being mainly the horrific event he had to live today.

"It was a very long way, man. Like, you have no idea how happy I am right now. But hey, what's up with you lately? Everything okay?" The brunette asked, staring into Sam's empty gaze that eventually turned sorrowful.

"I wouldn't be so sure. Not yet, at least..." He confessed, leaving the other intrigued by his response full of mystery. Sam isn't really the type of friend to hide things from anyone, but Kian sensed that something didn't sound right so he lead his friend to a quite place so that they could speak in silence.

Once there was no one around, Sam grew more confident in being more open to Kian, since he trusted in him, especially now that he was working in a field where hospital workers now resided.

"Kian," He sighed, his eyes growing as heavy as his heart while Kian stared at him with worry. "What I'm about to tell you is something kinda... Something I could only tell you. Well, the first one I could tell, for now. Can I trust you to keep this a secret?" The other shook his head as they sat down quietly.

"I'm already hiding my entire job from everyone, might as well keep hiding more things from people... But what could Sam's secret be? Does he know about... The videos I watch?"
