Kian Robert Lawley, age 24.

A young man who has a dream in becoming a somebody in life, and to prove to himself that he has what it takes to achieve anything, by being a persistent, hardworking man.

Today, his hard work was finally paying off and put to the test as he was getting dressed to go to a job interview within a hospital.

"What about this one?" He cautiously questioned his roommate, Jc, for what would seem to be the third time. The older man grew agitated, yet still cracked up laughing when Kian jokingly popped out of his room wearing a pair of suspenders and a top hat.

"Oh my God, are you going to work at a hospital or a circus!? DUDE, IT'S BEEN FIFTEEN MINUTES. HURRY UP!" He held his phone at the younger's face, rushing him into picking out an outfit, to which his best friend would simply laugh, making him smile until Jc would get confused as to why he was even mad in the first place.

... Until Kian let out a loud scream from the inside of his bedroom, of course. And practically flew outside of their bedroom, with his phone in hand, similar to the action Jc had done previously.

"HURRY HURRY, LET'S GO!!! MY INTERVIEW IS AT 6:30 A.M." Jc rolled his eyes, nodding at the other. "I'VE BEEN TELLING YOU THAT FOR ALMOST AN HOUR, but oh no no, the 'perfectionist' was too busy counting how many strands of freaking LEG HAIR he had on his- OW! OW, KIA-HAHA- YOU DUMBASS! WAIT!" Kian wrapped his hand around the older boy's arm, shoving him into his car as they drove off immediately after locking the apartment.

"Are you excited about becoming the first-ever paramedic in your family?" Jc asked, looking over at his friend, who was driving with a slight tremble in his hands. The other stared at them and grew curious, so he took one of Kian's hands off of the steering wheel to grab it.

In seconds, he let out a burst of contagious laughter when feeling the amount of sweat on Kian's palms. "EWWW!! Why are they so clammy!?" He shouted, wiping his own hand on his pants.

"I'm so nervous right now. And when I'm nervous, my hands sweat, alright?" Kian responded, feeling his chest tighten up, the more his friend would make him laugh.

"SWEAT? I think they could film 'Finding Nemo' by using your hands, man!" Jc joked, sharing a longer laughter with the younger man who was struggling to see the road ahead of him.

His eyes began to water as he squeezed his abdomen to let out another laugh, unable to stop himself. "S-stoooooooop!! DON'T tickle me when I'm driving, I'll crash!" He then proceeded to pinch his friend beneath his ribcage, earning a loud yelp from him.

They stopped their playful act for awhile to stare outside of a large, light brown building that was only a few miles away from them. Kian's eyes simmered when he noticed a pair of paramedics were regrouping to huddle together inside of an ambulance.

Jc stared in silence as he let his friend look ahead of who he could potentially become in the future.

"Jc, one day you'll see me in one of those suits. One day... My entire family's gonna know just how hard I've worked to save other's lives. Can you imagine me being one of them?" Kian's eyes widened when his friend held his hand, momentarily, smiling at him.

"You got this, Ki. I know you do. Go on, make us proud, buddy!"

"I'll call you later on, man. Later!" The two beckoned each other, and Kian couldn't seem to stop smiling right after his best friend left.

"I'll make you proud, Jc. I'll make you all proud."
