Chapter 2: Khai - Life Ends and Begins

Khai woke up with a start, the dream again of his beginning and he always wakes up as his body dies and he is reborn a Vampire and sees everything differently.

He remembers his life before being a Vampire, his name was Khai Stevenson and he was a young man of 25 and owning his own business. It was a company Stevenson Inc. it was started in 1944 and was thriving, Khai remembers he was not yet married, this is a piece he can't remember why, his family was his Mother - Father and 2 brothers, They were a middle-class family until Khai started his business and he then took care of his family. Bought a brand new house - Victorian and large yard - He allowed his mother to decorate it anyways she wanted. He paid for everything and Mother made the house a home nothing fancy just comfortable. They settled into their new life and things became very routine.

One day as Khai was in office there was a knock on the door and his secretary opened the door " Mr. Stevenson there is someone here to see you." " What is his name?" "He would not tell me, should I show him in?" Khai nodded. " This way sir." Khai looked up and there was a tall, handsome, Khai through the beautiful man standing in front of his desk. The stranger held out his hand and said, " Thank you for seeing me, Mr. Stevenson. My name is Stephen Allister and I am wanting to invest in your company." Khai shook his hand and felt something of a shock, he would later describe it. " Hello, Mr. Allester invests you said? Why would you want to invest in my business? I don't know you and how do you know me ?" Stephen smiled," Oh I have noticed you Khai and I am impressed and want to help you grow." " How did you know my name?" Stephen laughed," Well it is on your business card and you answered just now by asking." " Oh, umm I guess, sorry. Long day." Stephen smiled, Khai thought his smile was hypnotizing, and ... his thoughts trailed off, " Khai is that ok?" Khai snapped out of his thoughts and asked, ''What was ok?" Stephen laughed, " Dinner ?" "Oh yes yes that is ok .. Where would you like to go ?" Stephen said," Anywhere, there was a cute diner down the street that looked nice and friendly." Khai nodded," Yes that is Mom's place, good food and well Mom is there so mother you." Stephen smiled at him it sounded boring but if Khai liked it he would endure it, as this was for Khai.

They decided to take Khai's car and while driving there Stephen got lost in thought. He wondered what it would be like to kiss him, hold him, love him. Khai opened the door and said," Mr. Allester are you coming in?" Stephen nodded and followed Khai into the restaurant. Khai said," Hey Mom I am back." Mom laughed," Did you miss me ?" Khai laughed, "Yes I miss you all the time I wish you would give in and marry me already!" He kissed Mom's cheek as she laughed," Oh you! I am too old for you!" Mom showed them to a table and asked " Who is this handsome person with you?" Khai laughed," Oh sure he is handsome I am a kid, I feel hurt. This is Mr. McAllester, and he wants to invest in the company." Mom smiled," That's nice." Mom was feeling uneasy as she looked at Stephen not sure why. Then Stephen smiled, Mom looked away and shivered, she now knew why. " So what will you have to eat ?" Khai said," You have to ask ?" Mom laughed," No, I was asking Mr.McAllester." Stephen smiled," I will have whatever Khai is having." Mom said almost with a chuckle, " Are you sure?" Stephen nodded. " ok 2 Death by Burger with fires, what do you want to drink?" Khai said, Just a Coke." Stephen said," Me too please, Mom." Mom did not like him at all and she thought I will have to protect Khai.

Kha and Stepehn finished dinner. " I got it." said Stephen as he got out his wallet and paid for their meal, Khai smiled, "Thank you." Stephen thought, that smile. I want to see it every day. Khai said, " I need to get back to the office and get something before i go home. Can I drop you off somewhere ?" Stephen shook his head and said, The office is fine, I will get in my car and go back to the hotel." Khai nodded and he hugged Mom goodbye and they left. Stephen's thoughts went to Khai, on his drive home, I want him for mine he thought and I know I will have to go slow but I know I can convince him and once he is mine I can make him live forever, like me. These thoughts were his last as he drove back to his hotel and to his lonely life, that he hoped soon wouldn't be so lonely. Won't that be fun!!
