Note

What if Luz didn't give Amity her note back when she ran into her on the Grom episode? Let's find out >;)

Luz was walking to Hexside, listening to music on her phone and earbuds as she walked. After a few minutes, she made it to the entrance. She walked up the stairs and into the school, seeing a bunch of balloons and decorations.

After walking through the hallway a little bit, examining the decorations, she saw her friends.

"Willow, Gus!" She yelled, running up to the two while taking out her earbuds. "Hey Luz!" Gus said happily. Willow waved with a smile.

"What's with the sweet decor?" Luz asked the two. 

"It's for Grom!" Willow said happily. "Ohhhh right! That! Yeaaaa I don't know what that is. Is it like a 'Boiling Isles' version of prom?" Luz asked.

"Uhm yea sure let's say that. Whhaatever that is." Gus answered with a confused look.

The duo's chat was interrupted when Luz felt someone bump into her from behind. With an 'oof' she fell down with them. 

"Watch it, nitwit-" they started. Luz looked up to see Amity on her hands and knees, rubbing her head. "Oh, hey Luz. And co." Willow waved and Gus smiled. Luz grinned at Amity, then helped her up. 

"Sorry I bumped into you. And called you a nitwit." Amity mumbled that last part under her breath, then sighed. 

Luz picked up some stuff off the ground with Amity, then she noticed a purple note next to her. Curious, she took it and stuffed it in her pocket without any of her friends noticing. 

When she got back up, she handed the books she picked up to Amity, smiling sweetly at her.

"We are going to go to class now, see you later Luz!" Willow said, waving goodbye to Luz and Amity. She then left with Gus walking next to her.

Luz waved bye back to them, then turned to the Blight in front of her. "So what's this 'Grom' about anyways? Wait! Is there going to be Grom royalty?! I wonder if I can be your Grom queen! I mean, it would make up for me getting kicked out of last year's prom for dressing like an otter." Luz jokes.

"Well… being the Grom queen isn't really a good thing.." Amity mumbled. Before Luz could ask what she said, the witch continued. “Grom isn’t just party and fun. There is a Grom Queen or King chosen each year, and whoever is chosen has to fight Grometheus the Fear Bringer, also known as Grom, who lives under the school. He can scan through anyone’s memories and transform into their worst fear. And mine is super embarrassing.” Amity mumbled that last part, but Luz heard her.

“If the chosen witch can not defeat Grometheus, he will escape and terrorize the entire town with their worst nightmares.” Luz frowned. As Amity finished, the intercom turned on with a screech.

"Hello students! This is Principle Bump talking. I'm going to announce this year's Grom royalty! Everyone, give a round of applause for our Grom queen, Amity Blight!" 

The two girls heard gasps all around them, followed by whispers. Luz looked at Amity confused, then she noticed the look of pure fear that came across her face.

"Amity? Are you ok?" Luz reached her hand over and touched Amity's shoulder. She flinched at the touch, looking at her with the same look of sadness and fear. Luz didn't know what was happening, but she knew Amity was scared.

Amity mumbling under her breath. "I need to go.." She whispered, then ran off. Luz thought about running after her, but decided to let her be. She could tell she needed some alone time.

Walking down the hall, she made her way to her locker, opening it after struggling for a bit. She pulled out the books she needed for her next class and left for it. 

While she was making her way to her class, she passed by the gym. She glanced inside and saw people hanging up more decorations. Then she noticed Amity in the corner, on the bleachers. She was watching them with a blank look.

Luz decided she was going to talk to her later and she continued her way to class.

After a boring hour of class, the bell finally screamed. Luz gathered her stuff, then walked out of the classroom. She walked to her locker and put her books inside. She reached to her pocket, taking out a pencil and eraser. When she checked the other one, she felt the note. 

‘Oh right, the paper.’ She pulled it out, running her finger over it. She put her pencil and eraser in her locker then unfolded the note. Her eyes widened as read the note, blushing.

Luz,

Will you go to Grom with me?

She gasped silently to herself, then smiled wide. She looked all around her for the Blight, only to be disappointed when she didn’t see her. She pulled out her pencil and wrote something on it, then folded it back.

She stuffed it back in her pocket, then grabbed her books for her next class. She closed the locker and headed that way, slipping the note into Amity’s locker as she passed it.

Amity was hanging out in the Gym for her first hour when she heard the bell scream. She helped with the decorations a little but mostly just watched. 

She heard her scroll bing, then she pulled it out. Turning it on, she saw a notification from Pinstagram. Opening it up, she saw it was a post from the Hexside account she follows for any announcements they post.

‘Don’t forget to get a date for this year's Grom! Remember, no witch outside of the school, no outside food or drinks, blah blah blah announcement crap'

The rest were just rules she already knew. Amity grumbled, poofing her scroll away. She breathed in slowly, then sighed. 

She reached her hand down to her pocket. She expected there to be a curtain pink note she wrote, but to her surprise, it wasn’t there. 

Her eyes widened in shock, then she started to panic. ‘Where did it go?? I swore I grabbed it this morning. Did it fall out while I was walking to school? No, I was holding it when I was walking in the hallway. Did I drop it when I was running? Wait, I didn’t have it when I was running.’ 

She looked all around her just in case it fell out of her pocket and onto the bleachers. Then, she realized. ‘I must have dropped it when I ran into Luz! Oh no, what if someone saw it? What if she saw it!!’ 

Amity started freaking out even more. ‘Oh no, I need to find her before she reads it!’

Amity got up quickly, grabbing her books that were beside her. She rushed down the bleachers and out the door. She ran to Luz’ locker, hoping she would be there. After a little bit of walking she made it. She saw Luz there, but what surprised her most was that Luz was at Amity’s locker. Amity watched as she slipped a pink piece of paper into it, then walked off into the opposite direction.

When Luz was out of sight, Amity walked to her locker. When she opened it, the note fell out. She set her books in the locker then bent down to pick it up. When she stood up, she unfolded the note, surprised by what she saw.
