=CHAPTER 3=
LUNA POV:
I didn't know how long the smile on my face would last but once all the attention was off of us, I realized I got separated from Cassie.
It was nice to see Cassiopeia all energetic and full of life, I just hope it's nots forcibly taken away from her again.
I didn't realize I was lost in thought until I bumped into a boy that was probably a little older than myself.
"Oof" I gasped in surprise as the boy caught me before I could make a fool of myself.
"Thank you!" I told him grateful.
He just rubbed the back of head sheepishly, "It's okay. I should've been the one to watch where I was going. It's not very gentlemanly of me to knock over a pretty girl such as yourself." He rambled adorably making me giggle.
"I'm Abraxas Malfoy, my dear. And you are princess?" He introduced himself, bring my hand to his lips.
I blushed. Princess? "You must be mistaken, I'm no princess. Just the youngest daughter of the Lestrange family, Luna Lestrange, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Suddenly the music changed from an upbeat song to a more classical one.
Abraxas turned back to me, "may I have this dance, princess?" He asked with an inviting palm up.
I smiled teasingly, "why of course, prince. You may." I giggled as I took his offered hand. He gave me a dorky smile and pulled me onto the ballroom dance floor.
Let's hope my dance lessons were worth it.
Wait....Malfoy?!
CASSIOPEIA POV:
I looked around when I realized I lost Luna. Oh merde! I frantically looked around, and quickly spotted her with a boy dancing. I mean, how many pale blonde little girls were there? Two, but the other one was probably around four.
Oh well, I'll get her later she seems to be enjoying herself. My stomach then quietly grumbled, seeing as we spent so much time getting ready that I haven't had my afternoon snack yet.
I eyed the dessert table with interest, is that chocolate cake I see?
Mine. I claimed it.
Sweet victory! Merlin this was just *chefs kiss* heavenly delicious.
I heard a snort and look up from my yummy goodness. "What?" I asked, carefully swallowing first.
The black haired boy around my age merely shook his head, "oh it's nothing. It's been a while since I've seen anyone so.....unladylike." He said slowly as if choosing his words carefully.
I snorted, "Is that a problem? Because the door is right there. By all means, please take your leave."
He shook his head sheepishly, "No that's not it at all. I just find it....refreshing in a way." I nodded my head, I understood what he meant. The other little girls that I met where boring little ladylike dolls.
So bland and dull. Boring~
"Got it." I nodded. "Want some cake? Trust me it's absolutely amazing, I've got to find the recipe and maybe Alfred will make it for me and Luna."
"No thanks, I've already eaten ahem four slices, and if I eat another mother will be upset that I spoiled my appetite, you know?" He told me embarrassed.
"ORION~~~!" A annoying voice shrieked.
The boy paled, "Oh no. Walburga."
I winced, I just realized who I was talking to. Orion Black, Sirius's father. Mon dieu.
A girl a bit older than us came speed walking towards. Before I could even register that Walburga Black was steadily coming towards us, I felt myself being yanked away from the girl.
I didn't even realize we were running until, I suddenly felt myself panting. Leaning against the balcony I side-eyed Orion, "What gives? Why'd you drag me with you?!" I pouted.
"Heh heh, force of habit. Sorry about that." He sweat-dropped.
I felt myself sweat-dropping for him. "Who was that anyways?" I asked, gazing up at the night sky.
He grumbled incoherent words under his breath, "That is my cousin Walburga Black. Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier, I'm Orion Black, Heir to the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black. And you are?" He sincerely apologized.
I wave off his apologizes, "I am Cassiopeia Lestrange, Heiress apparent of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Lestrange. That's too much of a mouthful, so please call me Cassie or Cassiopeia if you must."
He nodded, "Cassiopeia."
"Orion." I retorted.
I looked at him curiously, "Your cousin....Walburga if you don't mind. Why was she looking for you?"
I saw him trying to repress a shiver at the mention of his older cousin's name.
"She... she's determined to be my intended." He groaned with displeasure.
I bit my lip, "Isn't she.... your cousin though. Are you two closely related?"
I received a flat look, "Yeah, we're all practically related at this point. I know, dumb question. You can stop judging me already Orion!" I frowned when he snorted in response.
"Do you even want to marry her?" I asked curiously, I've always wondered how the two ended up together in the first place.
Orion let out an insufferable groan, "Merlin no. Why would I want to marry someone so clingy and annoying? I would rather Avada Kedavra myself." He replied blandly.
I held in a laugh, oh Orion if only you knew.
Suddenly Luna came out of nowhere, "Cassie. It's time to head home." She called out.
I waved back, "Okay, I'll be there in a minute. Let me say goodbye to my friend." I turned to Orion who looked at Luna curiously.
"Who's that?" He asked. "My sister Luna, my fraternal twin." I replied.
He facial expression didn't even twitch at the revelation so I marched on, "I have to go now, it was nice talking to you Orion."
He nodded his head forward and gave me a warm smile, "And you as well, Cassiopeia. Until next time."
I smiled, "Until next time." I responded back before walking towards Luna.
Interesting, young Orion is much more open than I thought. What changed?
