So by this point, I have decided I utterly hate life. My life was going fine until that stupid old man handed me his damn newspaper! I should have stayed in college. I'm such an idiot. I don't know what is wrong with this town, but how could I, Riley Lutea, be the only person to help?!
By my calculations, I've been in this metal cage for at least a day, in complete darkness. All I remember is that I wrecked my car.... I don't know anything else after that. I was looking for a woman, what was her name? Shit, I can't remember.
I feel around my surroundings and a light flashes on. I squint in the light. Once my eyes adjust, I look around the room. My metal cage is suspended off the ground. Just as I had assumed, the metal floor is covered in blood. My blood.
The only reason I realize this is because there is a mirror on the other side of the room. I look at myself. My face is bruised and gashed, you can barely tell I have any freckles. My orange hair is stained with blood. Going down, I notice I'm wearing a white dress. I twist around to see the back and yelp in pain. Wasn't I wearing blue jeans the day I had the crash? The only way this makes any sense is that someone changed my clothes.
I pull up my dress and look at my legs. My thighs are bruised and my right thigh is cut open. That explains why I can't walk or sit completely up without pain. The rest of my legs and feet are fine, just small cuts and bruises. The lights click off.
Fuck, I think to myself.
"Riley?" A voice says, "Are you okay?"
I turn to see the same ghost from the abandoned shopping mall.
"Riley?! Hello?!" She says while waving her ghost hands in front of my face.
"I am fine, but I can't walk or sit up." I mutter back.
"My name is Lea, and I want to help you."
"Help m-"
"I have to go! He's coming!" She says and disappears.
The lights click on, and the door swings open and hits the wall.
