I stare at the newspaper for a while. Maybe I should open it, I think to myself. I slowly pick it up and open it. On the inside there are no newspaper stories. Just a letter.
Riley,
I realize you don't know me but I know you. There is trouble here in Sunshine Orange, and you are the only one who can fix it. You have the power to save this small town. Look, for now. I want you to drive to 1438 Dahiop Avenue. There, there will be another clue.
Yours,
Dan Snyder.
What even? I fold up the newspaper and stick it in my back pocket. I pay the waitress for the food and get inside my VW bug. I buckle up and hit my head on the steering wheel. How does this guy know my name? Should I help? I mean it does say that I'm the only one who has the power, but what does that mean?
On a whim, I buckle up and put 1438 Dahiop Avenue into my GPS.
