You walk for what seems like miles, tears were streaming down your face. It was dark and cold. You put your hands in your coat and huddle your body inwards to keep yourself warm. Cars zoomed past and hit the puddles creating what seemed to be tidal waves. You jump to the side, avoiding the splashes of the puddle. You continue walking until you hit a large mall. You step in to the warm and wipe away a tear that fell from your cheek. You look around trying to work out where you were going to go. You suddenly spot a familiar face, it was Chris Evans, one of your closest friends. He sat there holding a trumpet; you have no idea why but it was Chris, you always expect the unexpected with him. You did not want to talk to anyone so you turn around and walk out.

You continue to walk to no where. Suddenly, you hear a man shouting your name and runs up next to you. "Are you trying to avoid me Y/N?" He looks at you and sees your raw red eyes "Hey...you okay?" he asks wiping away a tear with his thumb. "Not really" you reply bluntly. "Well let's do something about that" Chris says with a cheeky smile plastered onto his face. You both begin to start walking. "Where are you heading?" he asks. "I don't know, anywhere, no-where. I just needed some time to think" you reply.

"So do you want to talk about it?" Chris questions. "Do I have to?" you reply turning your head to the side as you say it. Chris laughs and looks forward "Nope". You both continue to walk in silence. "I had an argument with Tom" you say eventually. Chris looks at you and says "Okay... what about?". You stop walking and say "I had dream that felt really real, like a memory, and when I told Tom he freaked out". Chris looks at you and laughs saying "Okay? Weird thing to argue about". You let out a sigh of relief as Chris seemed to understand you. "I know", you say, "All I said was I dreamed we were all superheroes, like you were a guy called Captain America". Chris turns his head suddenly and exclaims "What?!". You instantly realise that telling him was a mistake, "I shouldn't have said anything, I... I've got to go". You walk quickly away, putting your hood up and leaving Chris standing by himself.

Chris's POV

You watch as Y/N walks quickly away. How did y/g (your/gender) remember Captain America? y/g was never supposed to remember that, y/g was never supposed to who you truly were. You decide that you need to call Tom immediately. You run to the nearest payphone and call him. You wait a few minutes and then he answers the phone. Tom says "Hello?". Without even answering you say "How has Y/N started to remember who we really are?". There is silence on the phone. "We need to have a meeting tomorrow to discuss what we are going to do". There was no reply just heavy breathing until Tom finally says "Okay."
