The Meeting

Tom's POV
You walk into the kitchen and put the kettle on. You stare out the window at the endless fields in front of you. The trees waved in the breeze and the birds chirped. Click! The kettle finished boiling. Just as you turn around, you notice a large car pulling up into the drive-way. You know instantly that it was Chris. You watch as he ambles up your pathway to the door. There as a loud knock.

You walk over to the door and see Chris standing there hands in his pockets. He looks up and says "Hey". "Hi" you reply putting your hand out for a handshake. He looks down at your hand and says with a laugh "I thought we were friends not acquaintances". He takes your hand and pulls you in for a hug, patting you on the back as you do so. "Come in make yourself comfortable", you say directing him into your living room.

Moments pass and your both sitting on the edge of your armchairs staring at the ground. There was just silence. "So what do we do now Y/N is remembering who we really are?" Chris asks, whilst rubbing his hands together. You hold your hands tightly and look up. You say " we don't tell y/g (your/gender) the truth". Chris looks up in shock an exclaims "What?!" You continue saying "I'm trying to protect Y/N and this could put y/g life in the line".

Chris begins to become agitated and says "well you're not doing a good job are you?!". You feel your smile drop and then your teeth tighten. You were trying to do what was best for Y/N. "How dare you tell me that I'm not doing a good job, I'm protecting y/g like Tony asked me to do!". Chris stands up and exclaims "Before Tony died, he asked us to protect Y/N that's why you wiped y/g memory".

You feel your eyes brow drop to a frown. You could feel the anger building in you. "How was I supposed to know it wouldn't work!" You shout in response. Chris looks at you with a very intimidating frown. In a calm but aggressive tone he says "You tell Y/N the truth today". You instantly reply "I am not telling Y/N the truth of all y/g really is". Chris walks towards the door but when he heard you say that he stops. "If you don't tell y/g then I will"

You watch as Chris begins to walk out of the room. Before he steps out the doorway you say "If something happens". Chris turns and faces you, you continue "If something happens to Y/N, I am holding you responsible". Chris looks solemnly to the floor and says fine as he walks out the door.
