Kates Point Of View

On Wednesday morning, I woke up bright and early. I walked downstairs and grabbed an old picnic basket that my mother gave me when I was little. Inside the basket, I laid a little laced blanket in it.

Then I looked in the refrigerator to find some food to put in the basket. Then I grabbed the strawberries from the back of the fridge and then poured them in clear tube wear. Then I started to make out sandwiches. I put ham and cheese slices, lettuce, and mayo on our sandwiches. Then I cut off the crusts of the sandwiches and cut them in half. I put them in a ziplock bag and sat them in the basket next to the strawberries. I then grabbed my tub wear of liquid chocolate from the fridge and set it in the basket. I also grabbed some paper plates and some wine glasses and sat them in the basket gently. I then grabbed my Cabernet Sauvignon wine and sat that in the basket.

"Dad, where is Mother's blue and white picnic blanket?" I yelled at him.

"Why?" He yelled back.

"I need it! Where is it?" I yelled back and then rolled my eyes.

"Get off your lazy ass and look! God Katie!" He yelled aggressively to me.

"Asshole!" I yelled back.

"What did you say, young lady?!" He said then walked into the kitchen to where I was standing.

"I said where is?" I lied.

"What's all this for? Are you going on a date or something?" He asked while looking through my basket.

"Yes, I am. Now if you don't mind can I have the blanket and my basket back?" I said while taking my basket back from him.

"It's in the hall closet." He said and then walked back to his bedroom.

I didn't mean to be so rude to my father but, he has NEVER done anything for me EVER. He just sleeps all day or complain about not getting enough sleep. I love him so much, but he just gets on my nerves!

I then grabbed the Picnic basket from the closet and grabbed my basket and headed to the park to set up. Once I got there I found the perfect spot! It was under a shady tree in the grass, and it was far from other people. I laid the blanket down and spread it out on the grass. I laid the basket o top of the blanket, and then I sat down. I picked up some roses on the way to the park and I sat them on top of the bracket in the middle and waited for Terrance.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple of minutes later,

I saw a red minivan. For some odd reason, I was watching that van like a hawk. But, then I saw Terrance getting out of the van, He was with an older woman, probably his mother. Terrance looked so hot! He had his hair pulled back, and he had a black tuxedo on. I started to walk up to him.

"Terrance! You made it. "I said while hugging him.

"Hello, Kate." He said while hugging me back.

"Terry, have fun! I have to go now. Bye." The woman said and then drove off.

"Bye, mother," Terrance said back.

I then grabbed his cane and his hand and guided him to the picnic.

"We're here," I told him and then sat down.

"Wine, strawberries, and *Sniff, Sniff* Chocolate! Kate, you thought of everything!" He said while sniffing the air.

"I guess I did. Want to eat?" I asked him.

"Sure." He said.

I grabbed the strawberries out and open the tub wear and set them on the blanket. I then grabbed the liquid chocolate and sat it on my lap.

"Open your mouth," I said while dipping strawberries in the chocolate sauce. And then put it in his mouth.

He took slow tiny bits. He was so precious. He then waved his hand over the strawberries and then grabbed one and put me in. He then leaned over to touch my face.

"Beautiful eyes....... Tiny nose....... Mouth....... Lips." He said touching my facial teachers.

Then when he touched my lips he tried to lean in for a kiss. I felt like I was a princess in the Cinderella ball and Terrance was my Prince Charming. But then, I remembered the talk with Dr. Rogers. I still haven't told him yet.

"Terrance I have a question," I said after kissing him.

"What is it?" He said.

"If there was something I could do to give you vision would, you want it?" I asked him.

"What do you mean?" He said.

"I called a vision doctor. His name is Doctor Anthony Rogers and, he said there is a chance you'll be able to see again!" I said with excitement. Terrance looked very angry.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

"Nothing." Then he gets up and starts to walk away.

"Terrance talk to me. What's wrong?" I said while trying to stop him.

"It's just... I haven't been able to see in fourteen years! Ever since I was five years old. I don't think I'm ready for such a big change in my life." He said softly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Terrance I really am. It's just you don't have to do it right now. The doctor said you can have one week to think about it. Just think about it. Please. I said and then hugged him.

"I'll think about it." He said.

"Let's meet back here on Friday to talk about it," I said.

"See you then." He said while leaving.
