Whenever there is an issue it usually is caused by Draco Malfoy.
For example,
In first year he tried to explode a potion all over me and Harry then Snape took points from our house. Snape is not fond of me or Harry, our fathers both caused him trouble. (He most likely deserved it based on how he treats kids.)
In second year he called Hermione a mud blood. He got a nasty punch to the jaw for that one, from me of course. Hermione was trying to be mad at me for 'causing a scene' when I did that. She forgave me after an hour.
In third year he was the reason Buckbeet was to be executed. Hermione was devastated about that, almost as much as Hagrid. He also developed a hatred for my father while he taught here. How could anyone hate Remus Lupin? He has to be the most kind person ever. I came to the conclusion that Draco Malfoy has daddy issues. That earned a laugh out of Mione.
In fourth year once the word my father was a werewolf got around I had to deal with his constant teasing and harassment. Hermione stood up for me, she was then called a mud blood for trying to help me.
In fifth year he snitched on all of us for Dumbledores Army. He also let Umbridge know who my father was before she even stepped a foot into the school. After I defended my father in a lesson I got the words, 'I will not defend half breeds.' carved into my hand. Hermione let me cry on her shoulder for that.
And here we are, sixth year and Draco Malfoy still won't give it a rest. Currently he is going on about my father. He knows its the only way to get to me.
Perhaps not the only way but the only way he knows.
"Lupin! How's your father been ay? Heard he doesn't have a job.. again." I have learnt to ignore Draco and his general evilness. Hermione however hasn't.
"Malfoy stop being such a foul git! At least her father loves her." Hermione is not usually an angry person. But she loathes Draco Malfoy more than any of us. Not more than Harry though. Hermione's words must have hit a nerve in Malfoy, for he retreated to his seat in the defense against the dark arts classroom. Snape then told us all to shut up, after hitting me and Hermione over the head with a hard book. Foul git that old grump is.
~~
"Ron for the last time, I am not going to help you with Hermione. Deal with it yourself." I can't stand Ron pestering me on why Hermione is ignoring him. Mainly because it makes me sad to think about Hermione's feelings for the red head. "Come on Dora." Ron has called me Dora since year one. Not sure why but now the whole Weasley family calls me it.
"Look Ron, Hermione is just stressed. She has kept her distance from me and Harry as well." I reply while taking a puff of my cigarette. The black lake glistens in the sunlight near the bench we are seated at. "Wheres Harry, I thought he was meant to meet us here?"
"He's probably out snooping on Malfoy again. He's gone absolutely mad Dora. Thinks he's a death eater or some shit like that." Ron responds while taking a bite of a chocolate frog. That bloke never stops eating it seems.
We sit and talk for a while. Me and Ron have never been as close as we are to the others in the group but conversations still come easy with him. "Ron there you are baby!"
Lavender Brown. I don't hate her, she is just a little obnoxious sometimes. She is also causing Hermione lots of pain, but perhaps this is good. Maybe Hermione will get over Ron. Ron is a real git to Hermione a lot and I don't understand what she sees in him.
"I'll leave you to it Ron. Have a good day, both of you."
~~
"Harry for the last time Draco might be terrible but he is not a death eater." Hermione may hate Malfoy but she refuses to believe that he would become a follower to Voldemort. "Hermione it's not that hard to believe! We saw how he acted when the chamber was opened, he hates muggle borns so why wouldn't he be? And his father is one to."
I tend to drown out their conversations when they begin talking rubbish like this. Malfoy is to much of a little baby to get the mark on his own, but if his father forced him then he would do it in a second. He's to scared to be disowned, unlike Sirius or Andromeda, he's a baby.
Instead of listening to them I focus on Hermione. She looks really tired, dark eye bags under her eyes. Her skin looks a little more pale than usual. I wish she would stop stressing over school so much, she is smart and she just overworks herself. Eventually Hermione gets up and storms off, I follow quickly behind her into the dorm.
When I enter I can hear sniffling coming from her bed. She's crying. My first instinct is to run up and hug her which is what I do. I sit next to her on her bed and wrap my arms around her. She leans into my touch, putting her head on my chest as her tears coat my sweater.
"Mione what's wrong? Talk to me." She looks up at me with those big brown eyes. I think if I were standing up I would have collapsed right when she looked at me like that.
"Everything is wrong Ora. Everything is wrong. It's not even about Ron anymore, I don't care he's with Lavender. It's just s-school and now Malfoy is probably a death eater and I don't want to admit i-it."
I don't say anything.
I just hold the pretty girl closer, allowing her to absolutely ruin my sweater with salty tears.
